Friends also had the excact same problem with the right ear going. Probably a defective batch.
I also got another 2 new pairs which i just opened both right ears didnt work, too late to return and trying to claim warranty is a joke
Sony are really rubbish these days
Sony IEM's for below £25 in my opinion are amazing value.
Good warm smooth soundstage, with slight bass emphasis makes an enjoyable and comfortable listening experience.
Good overall design. They do break after a few months if you sleep on them (ie put pressure on the plastic shell) but that is to be expected.
If you want budget IEM's, look no further (I've had 10+ pairs of these and similar sony models below £25 in my time).
I work in studio environments, and as a musician, I'm very very picky about my audio. I'm used to headphones with a flat response. I've had in ear headphones from Phillips and Sennheiser before and I really didn't like them. They were ok for somebody who doesn't care all that much about audio, but anybody like me with decent ears, really wouldn't like it.
However, despite the cheap price of these headphones I have been really blown away. My main headphones that I'm using are a pair of Audio Technica mx50 studio headphones, so I'm very accustomed to very rich, detailed audio. I was really worried about getting cheap earbuds, but I needed to have something that I could wear while in bed (I'm in the habit of watching tv in bed to try and go to sleep).
I think that these are excellent for watching tv on the go, with voices in the mid range being nice and clear, without the bass drowning anything out. The treble frequencies aren't amazingly smooth, but what do you expect for spending so little on earphones?
As for music......they're actually pretty amazing. I listen to a lot of Rock (such as Royal Blood), metal (Pantera), Rap (Kendrick Lamar), and some acoustic music (Jason Mraz).
With such a mix of genres, you'd think that such a cheap pair of headphones would not be able to keep up, but actually, they're really good. I bring these to work with me instead of my big headphones sometimes, and thats saying something, because I never thought of the bigger headphones being inconvenient.
There are very few minus points about this.Read more ›
- Brilliant bass
- Easy to put in ears
- Do not hurt after long period of use
- Wire gets tangled easily
- Solder is pretty poor
These earphones for the price I bought them from my local Boots was phenomenal! The bass is really good in them, they are easy to wear and don't hurt your ears after you've been using them for a long time. I've had to get mine replaced only once and that was because the right earphone had stopped working. I've seen other reviews where they have said that they are rubbish but my experience has been totally different from them. I would definitely picking up these earphones if you're on a budget and want some good-quality ones too.
4/5 stars because of the first pair breaking after a few weeks of use.
- Spare earbuds included
- Sound quality is alright for earphones, not bad but not the best
- Decent price
- The soldering on the speakers are poor, a pair has broken on me.
- Could be just me but these get quite painful when wearing for long periods of time.
- Unsurprisingly, these tangle quite easily in a pocket.
Overall, I gave these headphones 3 stars because while I like these headphones and they are at a decent price, I would invest a bit more money towards a higher quality and less painful set of headphones.

broke within 2 days of use but the sound quality wasn't brilliant anywayPublished 14 days ago by Amazon Customer
The sound quality is good, it's loud and clear and they never fall out of my ears, because you get different size covers, so they can fit any ear size. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Aam786
