|LED Display Technology: LED (light-emitting diode) TVs are actually a type of LCD TV. LCD HDTVs use standard compact fluorescent tubes to illuminate the picture. LED HDTVs, on the other hand, replace those fluorescent tubes with backlighting technology. LED TVs might therefore say "LCD display" on the packaging--this is perfectly normal. A quality TV for everyone
The car’s washed, your daughter’s been chauffeured to the shops and your wife’s upstairs doing, well, whatever they do upstairs. The sitting room is free. Free for you to sit down, put your feet up and enjoy the Man United v Barcelona game in peace on your new W650.
Rooney takes a shot, the football retains its detail as it flies through the air thanks to X-Reality PRO. But now Messi is dribbling up field, the crowd roars, the Bass Reflex Box speaker directing every frequency straight to your seat – it’s like you’re actually in the stadium. The ball is heading goalwards, you are on your feet…It’s over.
It’s all over. They’re back. Your youngest strolls in and takes over the screen using smartphone screen mirroring to look at photos and videos on the TV. Your wife makes her way downstairs and before you know it, everyone’s there. Even your eldest, a Skype video call sees her appear as large as life, smiling at where you once saw the beautiful game unfold.

Bring your picture to life
See each strike at goal, every dribble up field, exactly as it should be – in smooth and sharp detail. X-Reality PRO adds an extra dimension of image clarity to everything you watch. Drawing on a database of information which incorporates thousands of patterns collected from video images all over the world, it analyses and enhances every image – it’s especially good with faces and skin tone as shapes instantly become more defined.
Mirror your smartphone on your TV
Check the scores from other games, watch the highlights, there’s plenty more you can see on the big screen. Screen mirroring* lets you connect your smartphone or tablet wirelessly to your TV – so you can enjoy photos, videos, apps, web pages and games in super-size. Use your smartphone to swipe, enlarge, move and select content, while everyone enjoys the show. Even the sound from your smartphone comes through loud and clear on the TV speakers.
*Screen mirroring is compatible with Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Miracast mobile devices
See what’s out there
Is the match over? Finish off the evening with a whole world of content – without even leaving your sofa. Get connected to the Sony Entertainment Network for on-demand movies, catch-up TV and the latest music. There’s more too, with TV SideView, you can use your smartphone or tablet to learn more about the show you’re watching right now, like cast and episode details. Easily browse and discover more content – from related TV shows and Internet videos to apps, websites and recorded shows stored on other devices. Explore content with your smartphone or tablet (Android or iOS) and make TV viewing more social by tweeting about it.
Bring some style to your living room
Before the game, the camera swoops across the stadium – look at the sleek lines and curvature of its modern design. Your TV has the same kind of attention to detail. A slim panel design with smooth surfaces adds a sense of style to any room. You can even use the stand as a wall mount. An Intelligent Core that gently illuminates and changes colour depending on the source of the content you’re watching, whether it’s a TV or a DVD. It’s another striking visual element to enhance your living room.
Let the sound come to you
Hear the roar of the crowd like you’re actually in the stadium. The Bass Reflex Box speaker directs every frequency straight at you. This compact speaker delivers extended low frequencies and clear, sparkling highs. A specially-positioned reflector plate directs sound from the speaker cone straight to the viewer and an acoustic isolation design cuts down on unwanted vibration and resonance.

Totally blown away by this tv. Only a tiny bit bigger than the 46" as the bezel is so thin. Was worried Amazon only stock this set in silver but shouldn't have been - it totally suits this design.
Really nice that Sony include all the mounts required to table top or wall mount this set.
Typical flawless Sony set up. Was up and running and connected to wifi without even looking at instructions.
The sound is amazing - the best flat panel built in speakers I have experienced yet.
Downsides - none really, 3D is missing but as other reviewers have pointed out this is useless anyway (had it on the 46" and used it errr... all of two or three times). Only 2 HDMIs which is a bit of a shame but being as I can connect the laptop via wifi direct probably not too much of a problem.
I spent weeks deciding whether or not to buy this set, you shouldn't - it's a thing of beauty and you should order it right now.
Just note that it only has 2 HDMI inputs (did not matter to me as i only use 2 max).
Overall a great TV from Sony.
you tube seems to work well on it aswell, other apps i haven't tried but i also like how i can turn my ps4 on with the remote. also the steel around the tv just makes it look that more qaulity. its also nice and sturdy.
- good quality picture and build
- very low lag for games (!)
- nice app for your smartphone to complement/replace remote controller
- just two HDMI inputs
- lack of standarized interface between embedded applications - i.e. the way on screen keyboard is used

Awkward if fastened to a wall using a wall mount, as most connections are pointed towards wall. If you are wall mounting it please use a mount that swings away from the wall. Read morePublished 12 months ago by Bugsy
