Top Customer Reviews
* Decent LED edge lit TV and cheap for a Sony TV
* Easy to Use/Set up
* Relatively Stylish
*Automatic standby mode sometimes does not acknowledge that the viewer is using an external device (e.g. PS3) and warns that it is going into energy save mode
*DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT purchase if you intend to use this TV for gaming, as contrary to the information advertised, you will not " see PlayStation games in sharp FULL HD" . Sony Customer Service themselves informed me that not all HD TV's are fully capable of displaying HDMI compatible devices such as game consoles in either 720p, 1080p, or 1080i and that the PS3's high definition demands maybe to "advanced" for the TV to bear. Switching to any of the HDMI ports that my PlayStation 3 was using, resulted in the left half of the screen suffering from discolouration and screen noise, but strangely the right side remained clear. This was not due to any problems with my PS3 as it worked perfectly on another TV and Sony's PlayStation Support also agreed that the problem was the TV. This problem did not persist when I connected a Sky Digibox however so its HD capabilities are limited.
Final Review : Decent HD TV, not fit to play PS3. (or possibly Xbox/ any other HD games console also)
Sound is fine, and better than most LEDs. You will want to attach speakers if you really want hifi sound, but the built in speakers are as good as any on a flat TV. Picture is excellent - Do not buy it for a small room and sit close - no TV looks good when you're too close. Buy an appropriate TV for the size of room. I sit a couple of meters or so from mine and it's very good (I have other higher end Sony TVs - this stands up well to them)
This TV WORKS EXTREMELY WELL WITH A PS3. It's great for games and brilliant using the blue-ray for video. I don't know what problem the other reviewer had, but mine work very well together - outstanding in fact. Make sure you get the settings on the PS3 correct is probably the answer. I almost didn't buy this on the basis of that review.
This cost just over £400. Well worth £500+
I'd buy another without question.
What i will say is that it is a superb television with a great picture the sound is OK.
If you are in the market for a TV check this one out it wont disappoint
You need to be aware that this TV does not have internet connectivity built in.
It meets all my needs of Sat/PS3/Camera/Video/DVD playback. I access the internet through the PS3. You just need to be aware that SMART TV is not necessarily needed to surf the internet - there are alternatives which people already have in their home, like a PS3 which you can use instead. As I said at the beginning, very happy with the picture quality and meets my needs perfectly. Be aware of what you are buying and check the specification fully before buying!
The profile is really slim and elegant and the picture goes almost to the edge of the physical screen.
The setup was just a couple of clicks on the remote control.
The picture is better than my old TV and the sound is really crisp and clear but slightly lacking in base sounds (so you might need a Sony speaker stand add-on if you need more base sound).
My PC can now display at full 1980x1080 resolution on this TV (which the 40-inch couldn't achieve).
The power on/off is totally silent compared to my old 40-inch TV which sounded like a power station starting-up with all sorts of relay clicks etc!
