Good 3d without flickering glasses
Like a personal cinema Imax
Much to heavy and does rest on your nose. I have resolved this by removing the rubber pad and got some silicone earplugs which I can mould into shape.. once resolved I was able to view much better.
Doesn't always recognize the 3d signal not sure if this is the product or the blu ray player.
A lot better than Vuzix glasses.
Update! You need to turn on headset before you put the disc in the player.
The 'Sony HMZ-T1 Personal 3D Viewer' is surely one of the most futuristic gadgets that is currently available on the market, it most definitely has a Star Trek if not Cyclops from X-Men kinda look to it, maybe something that doesn't quite belong in this current space of time, but nevertheless it is and boy was I excited

There are two parts into setting this device up; the first part is connecting your HD device to the viewer, that was the easy part and to be honest doesn't take more than a minute, it's the second part where you have to configure it to your head which at first is the more challenging part.
Connecting the devices really is as simple as counting "1, 2, 3"; make sure all devices (the HD device you want to connect & the processing unit) are powered on via the appropriate AC power cords, plug the HDMI lead from the HD devices HDMI "Out" into the processing units HDMI "In", then plug the HMD's cable into the HMD port located at the front of the processing unit, it really is that simple. If you're wondering what the "Out" part is for on the processing unit, basically you can connect the "Out" to a TV's "IN" so when the HMD is on standby, the processing unit will send the audio/video signals to the TV instead (when the pass-through option is enabled).Read more ›
Onto the product. THIS IS UNREAL. only SONY, having the bad time that they are in the market these days, would dream of and actually release a product like this into the mass market. it's so amazing. Basically, it's like strapping the IMAX Cinema to your face!!
THE GOOD of strapping the IMAX to your face:
Your own personal Cinema, no-one to disturb you from the film or throw popcorn at you like the idiots that hang around in public cinemas. just you, and the films/Games you love to enjoy.
The sounds is Brilliant, deep bases and crystal clear voices, although the speakers that fit on your ears could be a bit more high end in terms of product quality (they are basically a standard pair of over ear walkman headphones) they still deliver the goods.
The Picture, apparently a MAX Definition of 720P, the system tells you the source and definition of the picture, mine seems to tell me 1080P most of the time. despite what it actually is, the picture is sharp, vibrant and realistic. so it doesn't matter if it's 1080p or 720p because it looks amazing, the same as my 40" 1080p TV this product has replaced.
The screen is massive, hard to say but around 200", same as a cinema i guess. with the same clarity picture as if you were watching a blu ray on TV.
the 3D is awesome, no crosstalk (ghost images) as there are 2 built in screens - that's right, 2!! .. meaning they don't need to communicate with the glasses if you were watching on a 3DTV.Read more ›
got these for £300 second hand , and for that money they are great , but £800 you will be disappointed I think
while the display is 720p it does not come over as that resolution while playing PlayStation 4 or Xbox one games
as screen looks a lot lower resolution , for 2d films its good very much like a cinema quality picture on a massive screen
and 3d fairs ok , would not say its brilliant but more its good , as 3d is still not quite here yet I think , once they double the resolution it will be , a year or 2 away I would have thought , but the 3d effect is quite good , do get pop out on certain films and crosstalk free , but still the best pop out is with LG passive TV's , even if you have to deal with the venetian blind effect.
the effect these give is best described as looking at a massive theatre screen from about 15 rows back dead centre seat
but the hard part is getting them to focus properly , took me 2 days of trial and error , first of all if you wear glasses for long distance keep them on , yep seems wrong as unit is a inch away from eyes , now you have 3 headrest to try and 2 straps that have about 10 positions to and eye lens shutter in unit that has about 6 positions, for me the best result was no forehead rest , I put a bit of black tape across front to stop it digging in head , I needed to do this because no matter what one eye was always slightly out of focus, this solved that problem , top head strap was half way and back head strap was full , worked a treat.Read more ›
