In short, this phone is honestly one of the best phones for its price range out at the moment, I would rate it higher than it's counterparts such as the Nokia 6230, it was also voted as Phone of the Year by "What? Mobile" Magazine.
The camera isn't really up to standard, even for a camera phone so I definitely wouldn't see that as a selling point you should be concerning yourself with. I used to occasionally when I first purchased it but the quality really rather poor.
On the main front screen of the phone there are easy to access quick icons for Phone Book, Messaging and WAP access. I have really come to rely on this as it makes navigating just so much faster. This is a really intuitive facet to the phone, and is illustrative of the thought that has gone into the user interface.
The main way to navigate on the K700i is via the navigational stick on the front. Over the months this hasn't stayed as responsive as it originally was, especially when clicking down to select an option. The other major bug bear on the phone is the much maligned battery life. This really isn't good enough, toward the tail end of the phones life I have had to charge it every other night, even then it is just about to run out when I do. Now I am a fairly heavy user but this still isn't up to scratch.
Overall the call clarity is excellent, although it could do with more range on the volume. For such a small phone it is unexpectedly easy to use and not too fiddly and the radio is a really welcome addition and works excellently with the hands free kit (which as a side note is excellent for calls as well). I would certainly recommend this phone; it is certainly one of the best in its class.
But as time goes on. The navigation button has become very unresponsive, to the state that I cannot scroll down with it. The phonebook seems to randomly change the numbers, so when I think I'm ringing Bill, I'm actually ringing Ben, which is totally confusing. I can no longer transfer telephone numbers from my phonebook to the SIM card and vice-versa which is rather frustrating. Another niggle is that the black plastic cover to the bottom (which protects the ports for the charger and USB cable) no longer fits in place and is constantly open. As others have said the camera is very disappointing.
On the plus side. The navigation is very easy. The customisable quick links via the navigation button are very easy to set and are very useful.
