Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

If you're ready for an exciting jungle adventure, grab your loincloth and get swinging. This arcade action game contains 14 challenging levels to conquer, as well as movie clips taken directly from the popular animated Disney film Tarzan. Of course, this game also contains the obligatory Tarzan yell.

While running and swinging from vines and branches, Tarzan tries to collect items scattered throughout the game. The "king of the jungle" can sport several special moves to complete his quest, including a unique ground pound that allows Tarzan to break through objects to reveal secret areas. Strength-building bananas can be consumed for extra power, and Tarzan can also throw spears and knives to defeat his enemies.

While Tarzan's loincloth is ever so lovely, you can also don a dress in this game ... to play as Jane, of course. This game certainly scores points for variety. In addition to Tarzan and Jane, there's the friendly ape Terk, and a few other familiar characters--all of which have their own special moves.

Game settings for easy, medium, and hard accommodate players' varying skill levels. However, while Tarzan is geared for younger children, the special attack and the ground pound moves may be too difficult for them. --Kasty Thomas

Pros:

  • Great graphics, including full motion movie clips
  • Based on the hit movie Tarzan
Cons:
  • Game may be too difficult for some younger children
  • Some of the animals killed are cute and furry

I have really enjoyed playing this game. It has good movie clips, which relate to the levels. It has 14 levels which are very challenging, with lots of things to collect. They include all the characters from the movie. The controls are very easy to learn, and so I think is suitable for children from a young age who would like Disney games and who enjoyed the movie up to older children. There are excellent graphics and the characters are easy to make out. Overall I think this is a really good game and I would give it an 8 out of 10.

With hindsight, Disney games based on their feature films were very hit and miss affairs, but 1999's 'Tarzan', another platformer, was one of the good ones. It's hardly original, but it's still good fun for the kids.

As Tarzan (both as a boy and then later as an adult), you must travel through 14, nicely designed levels collecting many things, including a set number of bananas, and wiping out enemy creatures (by throwing fruit at them!). The game has 3 difficulties: easy, medium and hard, and if you play within the first two, you'll receive help from Tarzan's pal Terk.

'Tarzan' is your typical retro platformer, but with pure Disney magic all the way. The graphics are great and colourful, the hero is given some cool moves to try out, and the music is perfect, capturing the feel of a jungle. There are also several video clips slotted throughout that will delight fans of the film. A good game for the kids!

I played this game with my 7 year old son years ago and wanted to play it again as it was soo much fun. I still think it's a great game and have played it loads over the Christmas period with my son who is now 13 and equally finds it lots of fun and very addictive. Would highly recommend it.

I think that it was very difficult for a newcomer, but it was exciting and when you die it is very dramatic. I also think you die very easily. I borrowed the game for five days and I had great fun with my friends and family and I would like it again.

It works perfect.
It arrived at a decent speed.
Nostalgia overload.
Tarzan.
Probably overpriced considering its age, and platform but the above reason make it worth it i guess ;)
