As part of my wife's xmas present, I was somewhat dismayed to see that Sony had gone back to their bad old proprietary ways with the non standard charger port for their Tablet S range. Luckily, this docking station uses the power brick that comes with the tablet, and utilises the exposed contacts on the base of the tablet to charge the battery.

It's understated (being black), sits near the TV (as the tablet has remote control function) and is easy to just slide the tablet along to locate the charging pins. Unless the tablet is switched on when docked, it's not easy to tell if the battery is being charged though.

Other than that, nothing to complain about - perhaps a little pricey for what is a plastic stand that connects the power brick to the device in a simple manner, but for aesthetics and ease of use, it's essential.

The Sony cradle is a nice way to keep the Tablet S in a good position to use as a digital clock, photo frame or to run any other app but considering that you have to use the existing (non standard) power supply that came with the Tablet S it does mean that if you need power on the move you have to untangle it from the stand.
At this price you would expect a built in power supply.
The biggest drawback with the Tablet S is that it does not charge over USB so if you are on the move you have to lug the power brick around with you.

I did't buy mine from amazon. It was on offer in USA for £7.50 so I asked a friend to grab one...I wish I had got 100! This is a must for this tablet. It gives it a safe place to live/charge which is a must just to stop my kids losing it somewhere... for some reason they return it back...strange. Tablet turns into a feature by auto starting an app when in its cradle which is also nice. I have the news and weather (Cassandra). Another advantage is it does set you up better if you have a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. For some reason on my tablet after a couple of weeks the serial number (4mm x 25mm) starts to peel off and interfere with the cradle charger points a quick fix with a sharp blade removed offending label but if this happens to you keep it safe somewhere.

The cradle for the Sony Tablet is a well-designed add-on.

+ It gently cradles the tablet, so you can just place it down and pick it up without holding onto the cradle.
+ It seems quite stable.
+ The cradle charges the tablet: Just plug the power cable (supplied with the table) into the base of the cradle and place the tablet into the cradle.
+ The tablet can be configured to change display when cradled, so it becomes a clock or a digital picture frame.

- Shame about the tablet - mine had technical problems.

This is an excellent stand/cradle for the S tablet, you can keep the charge on at the same time and it works a treat. It also looks cool too. It is very useful with the bluetooth keyboard and it acts then as mini laptop. I have leather one too but to maintain the screen of the S Tablet it is better in the cradle. Well recommended!

A must have to go with your Sony Tablet S!
Gets around the problem of the fiddly charger, looks good and provides a convinient place to set the tablet down, either to watch something or just for the night.
