Poor build quality - beware broken hinges

I ordered two of these - each arrived broken (the hinges were broken where the wire frame bit connects to the plastic) and was returned for a refund. When the first one that arrived with the metal part completely detached I spent a good while trying to figure out what I was doing wrong before realising it was broken. When the second one arrived with the hinges half broken (the metal wire was only just held in place) I then gave up.

It is a shame because the second one gave me a sense of how useful this could be - hence 2 stars instead of one. Perhaps I will try again in the hope it was a bad batch but I can't help but conclude the build quality is poor.

A good tight fit round the controller and holds the tablet firmly enough. A good side function to the Sony Xperia is that if you have a PS4 you can use the tablet as a screen and play your games with the controller attached to this in case someone else is watching tv or your in a bedroom etc.
Not much else to say about this, it does what its supposed to and doesn't obstruct any buttons on the controller.
I think the whole set up might get a little heavy to hold if you played for a while, but its not meant for long gaming sessions really.
It feels quite strongly built and should do its job for a long time of occasional gaming.

Great little device for PS4 Remote play.

This little thing is pretty cool. I use it with my old Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for PS4 remote play (I know), anyway it's way better than the Vita which has a smaller and lower resolution screen. It works by suction to the back of your phone and it's very sturdy if you do it properly. However, do not use this on a phone with a glass back, such as the Galaxy Note 5, it will probably crack it. Remote play works very well on it. There are cheaper alternatives I guess...but good.

This clip perfectly and arrived in mint condition. Didn't have the broken bracket issue like others - I suspect that some of these reviewers might have mishandled the clip... ;)

Fits the controller very well - a little tight to be honest but that's not a bad thing. The suction works well - I was worried about applying suction pressure on the glass back of my Xperia Z5 Premium - but it works fine. Even better still is the suction works on my phone's case too (mine has a matt finish).

The only negatives are the clip blocks the LED at the back and no matter how you position the screen it creates a backwards rotation pressure which gets tiresome on the wrists eventually - but not a big deal.

Product worked as expected, Held my Z3 tablet securely. I thought with the tablet it would make the controller heavy, I was expecting it to be a little awkward but it wasnt at all, It was easily held and comfortable. The only thing that can be annoying is it not sitting straight it requires you to make sure its suckers on when the table is dead straight and centre. it could do with a bottom or top bracket just to aid with this.

This is a really neat product.
It fits well to the controller and has a good suction surface to the phone.

Unfortunately I couldn't use the remote play feature because the wifi that I had was terrible, which has meant the product was unusable.
I now I have better internet so I may have to try it out again.

Ignoring the wifi issue, I am a fan of the idea and sure it would be a great product to have.

Fits the ds4 like a perfect fitting glove, I was a bit sceptical about the suction cup but its actuslly really strong against the z2 glass. I myself use a smooth silicone case and sticks just as well. I usually use a vita for remote play but too much of a faff around with lack of triggers and having to use touch. And if your interested im getting a Nvidia shield... Dont get one. The limelight app works as a clone and ds4 controller automatically works with modern games. Perfect all round remote play

The Good:

I use this with my Dualshock 4 controller (which this device is specifically designed for) and my Xperia Z3 Tablet. Despite the relative size of this 8" tablet, the suction pad holds it very securely in place using a clamp to prevent it from losing suction. It can be pivoted up and down to find a comfortable position.

I can play games using this device for hours and have a comfortable gaming session. My tablet will never move from the suction pad during this time. The wire 'bars' that clamp around the controller are strong and again are clamped at the bottom to prevent them from coming lose.

The Bad:

I've been using this for about 6 months (probably for a couple of hours once a week) and I lightly tapped the edge of the pivot mount against a table which broke the cap used to secure one of the clamping wires to the pivot. I am still able to use the mount because the wire is bent around the pivot bar, keeping it in place. I feel that Sony could have used a stronger cap which would have prevent this breakage. However, this is only a minor complaint because the devise can be used without hindrance, but it will ultimately reduce the life of the device hence the four stars.
