Sonos One can only pair with another Sonos One for stereo sound or as rear surrounds in a home cinema configuration.
Are there stands or wall mounts for Sonos One?
We worked with partners to develop stands and wall mount accessories specific to the Sonos One. These will be available to buy.
Sonos One does not have a standard speaker screw mount so always check compatibility of the stand before purchasing.

Most Alexa commands and skills are supported by Sonos One. However, several specific features that Alexa provides on Echo devices are not available. These include:
- Voice calling, drop-in and messaging

Well, I've only had it a few days, and first impressions are - WOW!! It sounds amazing!! You'd have to be some tech geek audiophile to say otherwise. A really full, well balanced sound - treble is nice and crisp, and there's plenty of bass. I adjusted the EQ via the Sonos app, as I like my music to have high treble... it sounds seriously good. I've linked my Amazon Music account to it and it works seamlessly- no problems at all. If Spotify is your thing, Sonos have now released a software update which can make that your default music player which works with voice commands, if you prefer. Now the Alexa issue - which I'll be honest, was the thing that first put me off buying this.... So far I've had no problems. I've only had the speaker a few days, and only had to repeat myself a couple of times. It hears me fine whilst playing music. So far - every time (although it is in a fairly small room to be fair.) All commands I have given Alexa, she has heard and given an answer. She gave me a Sky Sports flash briefing, as I have downloaded the skill on the Alexa app, but at present I don't think you can get other news flash briefings. This will change, I expect, along with other enhancements as further Sonos updates are released over the coming months... So just to confirm - Alexa has worked fine for me - no problems. I've never owned any other smart speaker, so can't compare if Alexa is better or worse on this, but from my own experience, no problems at all! Set up was fine - just install the Sonos app, Alexa app and music account app (e.g. Amazon or Spotify), create accounts for each and then just follow the really easy step by step instructions. It took me about 10 minutes from start to finish. So to conclude, I can't understand a lot of the negative reviews for the Sonos One - it makes me wonder if some of them have been written by publicity staff of rival products. For me, this has been a fantastic purchase - it really is an amazing speaker, and I'm just so pleased I've got one. The aim is to get another two, when funds permit. It's still in its early months of release, and so with further updates, is only going to get better and better. Just buy one - you really won't regret it.....
Having previously used Echo Dots (connected to HiFi's), I was familiar with Alexa voice control, which my family has become used to using. However, I was always frustraed by Alexa's inability to recognise and play specific albums I would request from Amazon Prime or from my music library (hosted on Amazon). The problem is particularly bad for classical music albums and composers. The Alexa App does not provide a search facility, which is frustrating when the voice control fails so often. The Amazon Music app has just added the option to cast music to Echo devices, but this is still rather clunky. The Sonos app, by contrast, is far superior. In particular, it allows you to perform text searches on Amazon cloud music, and select an album for immediate playback.
The sound quality from the speaker itself is pretty impressive, although in line with what I would expect for the price. It's not going to put a hi-fi separates system to shame, but it does sound a lot better than all the similarly-sized DAB radios and Bluetooth speakers I own. The bass is particularly strong (perhaps a little too much, but this can easily be adjusted in the equaliser settings of the Sonos app).
The only teething problem I encountered was in indexing my music library, hosted on a USB memory drive connected to my Plusnet broadband router. The Play One streams the music from there fine, but when I made a few changes and performed a re-indexing operation, the processed crashed, with the Play One's LED flashing rapidly for over an hour. Fortunately, disconnecting the Sonos from the network, then reconnecting it, fixed the problem, and it then re-indexed in a few minutes, as it should.
Voice recognition is good, if slightly poorer than the Echo Dot, but this could just be because I had my Echo Dot spaced a bit away from the loudspeakers it was driving, which obviously isn't possible for the Sonos. I would strongly recommend getting the Play One over the non-Alexa equipped Play:1, even if you already own an Echo device. This is because you don't then have to add "...in the kitchen" etc. to every command to "play X", which quickly gets tiresome, and also leads Alexa sometimes to respond with "I don't know the album Fields of Gold in the Kitchen", or similar!
These speakers have been my first introduction to Sonos, and Alexa. I must like them as I have just bought a Sonos Beam to make them into a surround sound TV setup.
But I digress - I originally bought these speakers to bring some music to my living room. As we didn’t yet own a TV, and being someone who values audio more than video generally I wanted something nice I could stream music with.
These speakers were a great choice. They pair easily, and using the iOS app can be tuned to the environment for a lovely, room filling sound. The music is nicely balanced, with a reasonable amount of base and volume when needed while at the same time providing a very clear and enjoyable low volume listening experience.
My experience with Alexa has been mixed. She doesn’t always hear my unless I raise my voice, which can be frustrating. Asking for tracks on Spotify can be a gamble, as it will often play a more recent cover over my intended choice or even get the song entirely wrong. Sometimes it will say it’s playing by not play any music at all.
Still, I’ve been able to have a great time using the Spotify app and with Airplay 2 support, streaming music to these awesome speakers is easy. I’m looking forward to trying the Beam and seeing how it works alongside them.
I would rate this 5 stars for the quality of the speakers but Alexa lets it down a bit. Still, I feel these are very much worth it and hope Alexa continues to improve over time.
