I've had this almost 8 months now. Its tough as hell and will last a lifetime, but will more than likely have internal component failure (battery or otherwise), long before the guarantee expires.
The battery does last a good few weeks between charges. The downside is that it takes a couple of days to actually charge it. The indicator will show full, yet several hours later the charge level will drop a bar or two. So it takes a while of charge, unplug, observe and repeat before the battery is fully charged.
The longlife of the battery is negated by the fact that the phone is encased in 5mm of solid plastic. The downside is that the microphone doesn't pick up anything. Nearly every phone call results in repeated conversations. This problem is cured by using a bluetooth headset, (I don't bother calling without it, even if my hands are free). This, in turn, decreases the battery power substantially.
The other funtions are minimal. The screen is really small and pokey. The camera pictures are all you can expect from a 2 megapixel. The web browsing is made difficult by all the different settings. I couldn't get it to work initially. Eventually I went through every setting until it finally worked. (2 hours on a shopping trip with the wife)
MMS funtions are minimal. Animated icons (smiley faces etc) aren't compatible, so no funky texts.
The torch is really bright and will light up a room better than any other mobile lights I've seen. The position of this torch is not the best. As always it is in the back of the phone next to the camera lens. For a torch to be really useful, you should have the ability to leave it pointing at things while its on a flat surface (the torch should be positioned in the end of the phone).

So far it's been trapped in car door, dropped off some step ladders and played with by a Pomeranian dog and survived almost intact.I would recommended this to anyone who needs something robust but bear in mind that it has limited function, takes along time to charge it's big battery and the belt clip provided is neither use nor ornament. The latter was worked around by using an old pattern 57 pouch, but there are pouches readily available in B&Q which serve just as well. One big gripe is that if you carry the phone in a pocket the nifty but essentially useless light comes on and drains your battery like a vampire.

All in all it is as advertised a really tough phone

If you work or play hard, this is the dependable phone to have with you. With two m-o-n-t-h-s of standby time, most likely it will be there and working when you need it. Water/shock/dirt proof means it will still mostly likely work when you need after a rough day "at the office." Super loud speaker phone means you can hear it in the noisiest work/play environments. The torch is no toy either. All round the benchmark for tough, tough phones. Field workers, first responders, extreme (and not so extreme) sportpeople, waterside hire-shops - all will appreciate this phone.

On the downside - it's big and heavy and the screen isn't huge - but certainly good enough for texting.
