The battery does last a good few weeks between charges. The downside is that it takes a couple of days to actually charge it. The indicator will show full, yet several hours later the charge level will drop a bar or two. So it takes a while of charge, unplug, observe and repeat before the battery is fully charged.
The longlife of the battery is negated by the fact that the phone is encased in 5mm of solid plastic. The downside is that the microphone doesn't pick up anything. Nearly every phone call results in repeated conversations. This problem is cured by using a bluetooth headset, (I don't bother calling without it, even if my hands are free). This, in turn, decreases the battery power substantially.
The other funtions are minimal. The screen is really small and pokey. The camera pictures are all you can expect from a 2 megapixel. The web browsing is made difficult by all the different settings. I couldn't get it to work initially. Eventually I went through every setting until it finally worked. (2 hours on a shopping trip with the wife)
MMS funtions are minimal. Animated icons (smiley faces etc) aren't compatible, so no funky texts.
The torch is really bright and will light up a room better than any other mobile lights I've seen. The position of this torch is not the best. As always it is in the back of the phone next to the camera lens. For a torch to be really useful, you should have the ability to leave it pointing at things while its on a flat surface (the torch should be positioned in the end of the phone).Read more ›
All in all it is as advertised a really tough phone
On the downside - it's big and heavy and the screen isn't huge - but certainly good enough for texting.
