About the Author

Steve is a well-known figure in the esoteric world and has been a keynote presenter at many conferences and workshops. Born into a Rosicrucian family in Bolton, Lancashire, in 1954, Steve grew up surrounded by mystical discussion and fascinating but often peculiar grown-ups. In adult life, and alongside a career in IT, he became an officer and then the Lodge Master of AMORC's John Dalton Chapter in Manchester. After having a decade off to help raise their two boys through the early stage of their lives, he returned to active mystical service and was soon asked to take a field officer role with the Rosicrucian Order, AMORC. This began an intensive seven year period of service culminating in the role of Grand Councillor for the North of England, Scotland and Ireland. Steve retired from AMORC in 2005 with full military honours and fond memories of some wonderful times shared, including a final initiation in the King's Chamber of the Great Pyramid of Gizeh - something not easily bettered! Shortly after, he met Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki, Director of Studies of the Servants of the Light School, and her husband Michael, then in charge of all the back-office systems for SOL. It was a prophetic meeting as Steve was, shortly thereafter, to create SOL's computerised administration systems for Dolores and Michael, set up a SOL Lodge in Manchester, and become a founding member of the ARC Administration team to establish SOL's online presence and offer the lessons to a world-wide audience via the internet and electronic payment systems. Part of this undertaking was to be invited into SOL's House of the Amethyst and take the SOL highest initiation - the Third Degree - Adept.
