Meet one of the most loyal members of the Andrades family Luke Andrade. Luke is extremely Wealthy, very talented and so fiercely loyal it's enough to make anyone fall in love with him. Luke’s the strong glue that holds his crazy family together. Even every man has a breaking point. When Luke heads to Ohio to attend a funeral for a former patient. Luke does so with the intention of taking some time off to help clear his head. The very last thing Luke expects to do is meet a woman with the name of Cassie.
Shy and quite Cassie Daiver. Cassie is very scarred, but definitely not that broken. Cassie’s recreating herself in a small town. Far away enough to try and forget her painful childhood.
Luke’s so darn angry with the world and himself. He feels like a failure. Cassie finally realises that she has something and that she’s afraid to lose what she wants. Luke and Cassie couldn’t have met at a worse time.
Luke and Cassie are definitely about to discover that love often happens. Love can also somewhere along the way. Love usually appears when you least expect it.
I love Ruth Cardello i so need more than 5*s
Cassie is a lovely lady who deserved to find someone like Luke who can show her that no matter what you've been through in the past you can overcome it by looking forward to the future.
Luke is the quiet Andrades brother, he just wants to make everybody happy, his mother & his brother but he never puts himself first. Emma, a patient of Luke's dies and something changes in him. New York was not the place he wanted to be anymore. Defiance was the place where Emma's funeral was and where Cassie's lives.
Cassie moved away from a big city to start over in her new life. She wanted a fresh start away from her druggie mother. She saw Emma on TV, talking about her treatment and her life in Defiance. Defiance was to be Cassie's new home. She now runs the B&B Home Sweet Home and she bakes for local restaurants. She thought she was happy until Luke arrives.
Could Luke be happy away from New York and his family? Can Cassie cope with Luke in Defiance? Will she survive??
I would recommend Ruth Cardello books.
Cassie came from a troubled past. She took a leap of faith moved to a new town and started over. She found herself finding a family she craved but still felt like something was missing.
They find themselves meeting at a funeral. The connection they have is great. I laughed and cried through this story. This is my favorite book of the Andrade's. Loved what can happen somewhere along the way.
Luke wow!!!! He was the wild card he was the happy one, the one who stuck the brothers together, who broke up arguments and who loves unconditionally but he is saddened in some parts of the book and hurt and I cried for him, he had a good woman in Cassie she was his rock and his shoulder but I can't believe what he did to her after all she had been through in life,I also cried with her but like all good men he believed in her and I loved the out come
I can't wait to read the next one

By far the best book of the series. It was brilliant to see this side of luke, to see the torment and guilt beyond the glue that holds his family together.Published 10 months ago by charly
The best of the Andrade's series, especially as it's more down to earth and more believable than the others. Am I a bad person for being glad that Patrice died? Read morePublished 12 months ago by rikkybabe
