A young girl and her dog puzzle at the top of the hole. Where did their ball go? Into a mouse's house? A dragon's lair? Something else?
It's a perfect vehicle for guesses and imaginative flights. As the girl and her friends guess, we guess too. As outrageously as possible. My son loved it. Especially the ending, perfectly realised.
Every Cobb book so far has been impressive and these really should be called modern classics. Suitable for toddlers aged 2 plus. Even for KS1 classes there will be good lessons and talking points.
One for rereading and treasuring.
