About the Author

Mary Ting resides in Southern California with her husband and two children. She enjoys oil painting and making jewelry. Writing her first novel, Crossroads Saga, happened by chance. It was a way to grieve the death of her beloved grandmother, and inspired by a dream she once had as a young girl. When she started reading new adult novels, she fell in love with the genre. It was the reason she had to write one-Something Great. Why the pen name, M Clarke? She tours with Magic Johnson Foundation to promote literacy and her children’s chapter book-No Bullies Allowed.

Life is too short to accept what is just enough, life is all about holding on for the exceptional, the Something Great in life that will sweep you off your feet.
I liked Jenna, she was primarily a solid egg, living a grounded existence, and she is normal girl with a good job, good friends and a good relationship that she is happy and safe with.
But is safe enough, well Jenna is just about to find out that safe doesn’t cut the mustard anymore because when she goes to interview for a new job, she comes face to face with someone that sets her status quo on its head.
Her mystery man, has her pulse racing and that is before she has even learnt his name…. oh good!! But when she keeps bumping into him, he starts to permeate every thought and with encouragement from her friends to track him down, can she resist?
I loved the fact that the book is a journey, it is a discovery of self and an the awakening of want and desire to the point that Jenna actually begins to live her life and not just settle for what she thinks is good enough.
The story is not all smooth sailing, much like real life there are hiccups and bumps that she has to overcome along the way but that is the way that you learn and Jenna learns that she has a great group of friends and a guy that as sexy as he is completely mysterious. His aloofness just adds to the intrigue.
The story may be firmly seated in the 21st century and makes full use of all communications and option open to us today and while that was completely refreshing, this is an out and out old fashioned romance. A funny, heart stopping, all-encompassing romantic journey that glides through the ups and downs of finding love in the 21st century.
Great story.

You know the films that take the pee out of other films for funzies? I’m racking my brains trying to think of what they are called!! Oh yesssss Hot Shots and the Airplane films!! Well this book was like that. It was so corny and so cheesy that as a pee-take book, it was excellent!! Every cliché, every bad description, every cringing moment from really bad B movies, was expertly captured and trotted out in this book!

Now I’m not saying that the writing was bad, I’m saying there was no plot, but the absolutely over the top guff and cheese made this book worth reading! The story is a well told story and for a book to stand out, it either has to be super good or super bad. This book kept my interest because it was super bad. The dialogue between Max and Jenna had me totally cringing at times. I was literally shouting OMFG Max grow some balls!!! Pussy! Sorry M Clarke, I don’t think I know of any men who talk in the way you’ve made Max talk. There’s a difference between being romantic with your woman, and coming across as a sap!

There were a few descriptions that honestly, if you had been able to see my inner demon pee themselves laughing, you would have laughed too. For example… "With several penetrations, he punctured through, and I moaned with pleasure and pain." What the heck?? I don’t know what he was puncturing through but I’m thinking he shouldn’t be!

This book was so bad it was actually good! I’m rating it a 3* because I did actually read it to the end.

Jenna had trusting issues from her past, max had issues from his past but the two people were ment for each other both characters bounced of each other . Romance trust was hard but the seemed so right after a car crash due to trust issues they get together and find true love prevailed.

MY REVIEW
This book has such a great plot that has its own unique points, the characters are very likable. Jenna is a lovely and determined character and Max is simply swoon-worthy, i loved he was the total package. It was so cute how he would send Jenna the heart shaped rice Krispy treats and flowers. I love it when a book boyfriend won't give up and relentlessly peruses a woman, and boy Max didnt disappoint.
I didnt like Jenna's boyfriend he was just so very bland so i was glad when he went on his merry way.
This is a wonderful story of true love, friendship and learning to trust in life, there are some funny scenes that had me chuckling away.
Max and Jenna have a exploding chemistry that just sizzles the pages. The story flowed so easily i finished reading before i was ready.

I enjoyed this book, Jenna has been heartbroken and has serious trust issues. When she meets Max sparks fly but she's too guarded to let how he makes her feel open her heart. Max knows the moment he sees Jenna she's his future and proceeds to make sure she knows how he feels. The situation gets complicated when Jenna realises her new job is for the very person who has captured her heart. Will she give Max a chance or forever wonder 'what if'
This was a nice story, nice plot, and characters. The writing was sometimes a little confusing but that doesn't take away from the story. Max is a really sweet loving character, Jenna plays the innocent heroine well. The intimate moments are nice and the misunderstandings provide the angst. Overall a nice read and I would recommend if you enjoy a HEA.
