I have to admit I only purchased this book as it popped on my kindle screen and thought it must be a good book to be advertised!
I was really enjoying this book up until Id say 30 pages before the end
It seemed like the book was rushed to be finished at one point I thought id missed a few pages as jake was acting wierd then suddenly proposing and they lived happily ever after and that was that kind of thing Other wise great book shame about the ending :(

This book starts well with Maria finding herself threatened when she looks into the lives of men who may be her father. Immediately she is in trouble she calls her brother's colleague Jake to help her because she doesn't want to tell her brother what she has been doing. Jake works for Maria's brother Logan in the security agency he runs - they are both ex-SEALs. Jake has a reputation which has earned him the nickname "Romeo" but he wants to spend time with Maria - unfortunately, her brother has warned him off.

This is a romantic suspense novel which emphasises the romance at the expense of the suspense - in fact, the romance is very hot and steamy here. It's not original (yet more SEALs, yet another security agency) and very predictable. A light and undemanding read with nothing to make it stand out from the crowd - pity it didn't live up to the promise of the opening.

I received a free copy of this novel from the publishers via NetGalley

Book two of K2 series by Sandra Owens. Narrated by Amie McFadden and Mickael Naramore
This book is about Logan's sister Maria and her crush Jake second in command at K2.
Maria has always fancied Jake nickname Romeo because he such a ladies man but Jake has also had a thing for Maria but Logan has threatened death is he every tried to go there.
Maria finds her mums black book and decides to try and find her father.
When she goes to his house a frightened teenager runs out front door Maria comes to realise he's not a good man. He try's to rape a teenager then beats her up for letting her get away.
Maria gets out of his clutches by kneeing him but accidentally leaves her purse and id behind meaning she can't go home. First person she rings is Jake. I love how the relationship develops so well and ends on such a happy HEA.
The only reason it's not five stars is I would have preferred the female narrator to do only h voice and the male do only H voices. Female narrator was great and pulled off all voices but male came across as sounding like he was taking piss out of some of the female characters. I know he wasn't but was distracting at times. Looking for to Saint getting his HEA.

Loved Maria's strong yet soft character that you can admire whilst feel for, and Jake's alpha male character but good heart that you can't help fall for make this story really endearing. Lots of twists and turns along the way keep your interest and I really didn't want to put this down. Didn't need to read the first book to enjoy this one but I always love it when there are little appearances of the characters from the first book through a series.

I enjoyed Jakes story and how a simmering love turned into love and protection. The story was really good with twists and turns and lively banter. The only bit I did not enjoy was where he asked her to mastibate on the beach whilst he did the same ,it just seamed to turn the loving relationship a bit crass. So sad ing I will be reading the next book.

This has quite a good storyline which covers the need most people have to know their roots. Maria wants to know who her dad is and starts to investigate using a list of men her no good mother left and puts herself in danger. She telephones (Jake) Romeo to rescue her as she's frightened of her brother Logan's reaction. She's always liked Romeo anyway. It's reciprocated but he was warned off by her protective brother, his boss Logan.
It's well-written and you want the characters to be happy. Of course they have dangers to face and uncertainties.
I enjoyed it.
Suitable for older readers due to content.
