Steaming hot chick lit...Murphy is a laugh-out loud, talented and insightful writer (Irish Independent)

A masterclass in writing electricity between two characters. Saucy, sexy and sensational, Some Girls Do is practically perfect in every way (BookWorm Ink)

I loved this book, it was a joy to read from start to finish and I really was devastated to turn the last page and leave Claire and Luca behind for good. I cannot wait to read more from Clodagh Murphy (Chloe's Chick Lit Reviews)

I really enjoyed this book, from cover to cover...I have already added Some Girls Do to my "favourites" shelf (On My Bookshelf)

Some Girls Do is an endearing tale full of love on every level...an all-round wonderful book (The Book Geek Wears Pajamas)

Expect complications galore in this funny and endearing read (Woman's Way magazine)

I was very excited to get stuck into this novel and I wasn't disappointed...There were some unexpected twists and some poignant moments, and I very much enjoyed it all (Chick Lit Club)

I loved this book. Wonderfully modern...chock full of characters one can take to the heart. [An] enchanting novel (Irish Examiner)

I picked this up after reading the positive reviews on here. I'd heard that the book was a bit racy and I'm no fifty shades fan so hoped it would be in keeping with the story.

The book follows Claire who writes a blog about dating but isn't actually the siren she has painted herself to be. When a publisher offers to publish a book based on the blog, Claire finds herself attracted to him and decides to ask a man she's met once to give her sex lessons. But is she going to get more attached than she bargained for...

I found myself really quickly getting into the book - it was very readable. The sex scenes were frequent but there was a story aside from this. I really liked the character of Claire.

The book is very unrealistic. As I already mentioned Claire asks Luca to give her sex lessons after meeting him once and allows him to stay in her house! Not sure any girl with their head screwed on would do this...

Having said that, I found myself racing along wanting to know what was going to happen. A book I would recommend for a light read.

So i'd heard a lot about this book most saying, basically it was bursting with amazing sex scenes and was far to hot to handle. One definitely not to be read in public. So like you would be I was very intrigued.
Well, I wouldn't say I was disappointed with it, far from in fact, but I did think the book has a hell of a lot more depth than being basically labeled as an eye popping bonk buster. Yes there is plenty of sex in it and yes for some it may be a bit 'ooeer' but in my opinion it was a lot more.

Some Girls Do is an endearing tale full of love on every level. The plot is thick and full of little twists that have you glued to the pages and you feeling every emotion available under the sun. I giggled, I gasped, I shook my head in disgust, I nearly cried and you all know how much of a hard hearted cow I am. The characters are a mixture of everything, but are all totally fabulous in their own right. It really is a very very good read.

Being the first book I have read by Clodagh Murphy and the warmth and dignity in her writing won me over. This is a book that I'll be enjoying time and time again. I will also be keeping my eye out for her next release and will be investing in more of her work.

Full with Phone Sex that brings tears to your eyes with laughter, a friendship blossoming, a sex fiend blogger, what more could you possibly want?
An all round wonderful book.

This is the first of Clodagh’s books that I have read, and after a swift Google scout, I didn’t know how I’d never heard of her other books because they all look right up my street! The cover is what drew me to the book after seeing another reviewer tweeting about. I’d already read two other books with similar plots, one just recently, so I was interested to see how Clodagh would write the story.

Before I read this, I downloaded Clodagh’s novella Scenes of a Sexual Nature because it’s also about main character Claire and gives you a little insight into her history. Although it’s not strictly a must read before Some Girls Do, it was still fun, short and quirky.

Claire, a.k.a. sex blogger “NiceGirl” is inexperienced when it comes to love and when a publisher friend she’s met through twitter becomes more than just a twitter friend she gets in a bit of a panic. She enlists the help of self-professed man slut Luca to teach her the rules of the bedroom so she becomes more like her sex pot alter ego.

Claire is a great character. Her life has been on hold to look after her ailing mother, with no complaints other than her rubbish brothers, and their families, not helping more. She’s selfless and that’s to be admired because she had big dreams for herself and she has learned to be content with what she has, in a kind of her-time-will-come sort of way.

Claire isn’t just a nicey nicey girl though because she has this sex blogger alter ego. Some of NiceGirl’s blog posts are included at the start of some chapters so you get a naughty snippet or two, or three.

What a good read, totally different to the usual chick-lit. The only fault was that it became clear early on how the story would end but somehow this didn't detract from how good it was. First book I've read by this author but most definitely won't be the last.

I loved this book. It's well written, the characters and their relationships were all very real and so familiar in some cases. I couldn't put this book down so I ended up reading way into the wee hours. The biggest problem with that was it was so funny I had to bite the mattress so I wouldn't laugh out loud and wake up my peacefully snoring husband! The first half of the book you won't stop laughing, very funny and the second if you're anything like me you'll shed a few tears too. The chemistry and banter between the characters is very witty. I thought the sexy bits were just right as well, they didn't take away from the story and were believable and fun. Fabulous book!
