PLUS POINTS: Speed 325 to 425Mbps :) after using passwords and private network creation, price, wakes up easily from power saving mode unlike many other popular adapters from TPL link that seem to be very popular on amazon even though they are costlier and not power efficient, password protection and private network security using power packet utility on CD, upto 64 nodes for increasing size of network, upto 300 metres range
NEGATIVE POINTS: Nothing really :) but instructions for the password protection and private network creation could have been better or even a video. Anyway I have made youtube uploads which are linked at the bottom. So check it out. Synching is not always 2 secs by pressing the synch buttons and password rest is not always 10secs on all the adapters and can be 20 secs on some. But not really a negative point, just mentioning for the sake of completion.
Please note that like all powerline adapters from all manufacturers this can interfere with HAM radio signals and DAB radios etc, hence why i bought shielded cables but even your house wiring can act as antennas creating interference for HAM radios and terrestrial radio transmission reception.Read more ›
Instant solid connections to devices (also purchased the homeplug single port).
PS3 wired connection more stable than wirelss (1 month on, no dropouts to report)
Streaming all working well, in all excellent product.
Both times they failed after being unplugged for a couple of weeks when we went on holiday.
When they worked, they were perfect, but when they broke they were useless. The worst thing, is they SEEMED to work in the sense that they all lit up, there were no fault lights, the software could see them over the electricity supply, but the ports coming out were completely dead.
Don't let my comment put you off buying. It is well made, does the job well and my problem only occurs about once a week.
Mostly 200 AV HomePlugs are really slow only seems to offer about 25% of that speed.
I have tried three WiFi solutions which are somewhat better, but still only offer 50% of that 200 speed and they sometimes drop out when The PC awakes from sleep which is quite often in record mode..... this requires a re-boot most of the time to get it working again.
I am now running a pair of these 4 port Solwise 500AV adapters, If they are connected on the ring main upstairs I get 410/420 speed, if I connect one upstairs and one downstairs it seems to vary some what between 190 and 310, I can't work out why yet,
but still a lot faster than any other solution I have found so far.
If I could get 300 plus all the time upstairs to downstairs I would give it 5 stars.

I have found the Solwise HomePlug very easy to operate: simply plug it into a socket, attach whatever ethernet-based item you want to, and you are good to go. Read morePublished 18 months ago by SHJ

Poor quality, poor configuration steps, ultimately unreliable as a pair of Solwise devices. Failed after 14 months.Published 20 months ago by W. Flanagan
