This book presents a new approach to solving the many problems and failures that we encounter at work, many of which are people-related. Based on techniques and methods from the world of psychotherapy, the author shows you how to get things done through people. In order to get closer to our goals, we need to act as a leader and as a coach. Leaders define the direction and guide others on the way. Coaches are enablers who help others make the best of themselves. This book offers new insights and tools that will sharpen both your leadership and coaching skills. As a result, you will start looking at and dealing with everyday challenges and problems from a new perspective.

In the current climate - where managers with good problem-solving skills are sought - after by employers, managers who are masters in the art of solution-building are in great demand by those same employers. Therefore, this new perspective is crucially very important in solving many of the intractable problems in the world of work. Hence, I found this book to be highly entertaining, witty, practical and, yet, a very innovative book that maps out a multitude of new insights and tools that are elegantly expressed by using a solution-focused approach to business and commerce rather than concentrating on (and aggravating) the problem. This book is full of useful tips, examples, and techniques to practice, the author adds a new dimension into the management arena by using Psychology in conjunction with Business - a very new concept for many people these days!
In summary, this book will help you to sharpen your coaching/consultative skills; leadership skills and enhance further your language skills which in turn, will strengthen all your working relationships. Ultimately, this knowledge will help you to work smarter and not harder using the the Pareto principle of 80% of land is owned by 20% of people and applying it to the 80/20 rule in management: 80% of our efforts achieve just 20% of activities, and vice versa.
I strongly recommend you to read Charles B Handy "Understanding Organisations" by Pelican and read Julie-Ann Amos: "80/20 Management: Work smarter, not harder, quadruple your results (Essential Series)".
