Formerly part of the duo Jonathan and Charlotte, this album marks the debut solo release for Charlotte. Jonathan is working on his own solo album for release in October.

The songs seem at first glance to be an odd selection, suggesting that Charlotte is keeping her options regarding her ultimate career direction, but for now she is content to demonstrate her diverse capabilities with different types of songs, which are all covers.

The one song I'm fairly sure I've not heard before is I dreamt I dwelt in marble halls, but I'm not sure about the Handel piece Lascia ch'io pianga. Other than those two, it's all reasonably familiar.

Among the songs are I know him so well (from Chess, a duet with Kerry Ellis), All I ask of you (from Phantom of the opera. a duet with Daniel Koek), On my own (from Les miserables), When somebody loved me (from Toy story) and I could have danced all night (from My fair lady).

This is an excellent album that should help Charlotte's career.

While it was inevitable that she and Jonathan Antoine would eventually go their separate ways, I think it's a shame they couldn't have hung together for another year and got a world tour under their belts. Those of us lucky enough to have seen their appearances in the UK last year know the kind of reception - and exposure - they would have received from a wider audience. Jonathan has since been "discovered" by David Foster and a spring board for him in the USA and beyond is pretty much guaranteed. But I worry that Charlotte, whilst popular in the UK, is missing out on a more global audience. I'm not sure about some of the tracks on this CD but her already very special voice continues to improve and I can see that on this album she's offering a broad selection to maximise its appeal.

But she's still a teenager (and a very determined young lady) who will view this as a step by step approach to greater things. At this rate there is every likelihood that one day she will star in the West End - and hopefully, Broadway.

I wish her all the success in the future that she deserves and I will continue to follow her career keenly.

4) I Know Him So Well (feat: Kerry Ellis)
5) When Somebody Loved Me
6) Right Here Waiting for You
7) Lascia Ch'io Pianga
8) All I Ask of You (feat: Daniel Koek)
9) On My Own

Catch a snatch of Solitaire!

'All I Ask of You' is truly haunting, but 'I Could Have Danced All Night' is the one I can't stop listening to - rather like another great favourite of mine.

Definitely a 5 star effort Stunning vocals and technically perfect. It is almost inconceivable that a 16 year old can blossom into a very accomplished high soprano performer in so short a time frame. Charlotte comfortably moves back and forth between soprano and alto voices never wavering nor cracking always in control. I have been on planet earth 80 plus years and cannot recall any performer who has accomplished so much in so short a time. Charlotte should give her voice coach a very nice bonus at Christmas. Charlottes coach undoubtedly has recognized her versatility and has encouraged her to develop it. "Feels Like Home" Charlottes haunting lyric voice here gives some the impression she is skirting the fine line between folk and country western. Charlottes and Sissel's renditions of "Solitaire" have set the bar very high for any female artist considering performing this classic. The duets were well done showing her ability to sing with another soprano and baritone voice. The classical pieces showcased her crystal clear voice in mastering the high register with ease and clarity. Charlottes no holds barred rendition of "I could have danced all night" in the style of Ethyl Merman was the icing on the cake. This young lady can sing and genera is no problem. Well done Charlotte looking forward to the next CD and a tour here in the USA.

Really enjoyed Charlotte's first solo album. It's an interesting, diverse selection of songs - including opera arias and popular songs from musicals, and several songs I've not heard before. It certainly proves that Charlotte is very versatile indeed, and her voice is well suited to these different genres. Her voice is quite mature, is consistently beautiful, and can be powerful when it needs to be. She's obviously worked hard since being discovered on Britain's Got Talent - and is now starting to carve out her own path. Well done, Charlotte - I look forward to hearing more albums in the years ahead, and to see if you home in on any particular genre. But for now I think it's great to experiment - and I even think you could perform in a musical one day.

Well worth buying. each track shows the scope and talent of this young lady. In particular I love the track from Toy Story" it was unexpeced and brilliently performed.
Having previously sung with Johnathon, it is great to see them embarking on solo efforts and this CD will pave the way for Charlotte to show what she can do.

A stunning CD that I would recommend.
