This sure brings back memories... This pack contains the following 4 games:

-----------------------------------------------
1.UNREAL (5-stars)
Where should I begin praising THE PERFECT GAME?

Graphically, it may seem dated today yet it was cutting edge at its time. I remember getting the original game, about 12 years ago, bundled with an nVidia graphics-card - and could not believe my eyes! Beautifully rendered surfaces, exceptional environments and an UNBELIEVABLE sky.

The weapons are well designed, there are upgrades and all have two different modes of firing! Walk and there is (adjustable) bobbing. Jump and you better had measured the distance or land in water - otherwise you get torn to pieces.

The game is pretty much linear, yet shortcuts or back-doors are available at numerous points - so exploring is encouraged. Simple puzzles add to the game's appeal (push a lever to drop the ladder here or turn the power on to activate the elevator there) - and usually reward with a weapon power-up.

Something lacking in many shooters even today is UNREAL's balance and fairness: you could take an enemy down with a single sniper headshot - but so could they. UNREAL was the first game I remember that WHERE you landed your shot started to count on the damage it did. EPIC had done a MONUMENTAL JOB!

What separated this game from the rest though were mainly two things: its unsurpassed atmosphere and its immersive story.
From the very first moment you wake up on the prison ship that was carrying you but crashed on an alien planet, you are gripped by fear and apprehension. You get only fleeing glimpses of the aliens - yet find ample evidence of their cruel handiwork on the ship's crew.

even better than the first time.. really. maybe its the 32in widescreen, but it looks amazing, plays great too (note for dual core processor users, the game can become jumpy or runs too fast or slow due to a timing issue. there is a patch that fixes it. I downloaded a patch from the amd website, and its all good, it may only affect win xp sp2 users. plenty of help and advice online too) four games for under four quid! Im going to have to try and stop using words like awesome and amazing ..but really.
one other thing if you dont install all of the games initially, you cant add them later without uninstalling the existing ones, worth remembering.
there are plenty of downloadable additions too, mods, texture packs and updates to enrich the experience. Personally i just dont care. Im gong back now to frag some skaarj, like i said before, awesome!

This installed fine and runs great on my Windows 7 64bit computer.

Unreal Tournament 2004 plays online perfectly.

Unreal Tournament 2004 is one of the most action packed games going, it is a game of pure skill where fast reactions are needed to have any hopes of surviving, it's a game where practice makes perfect.

There are many different modes to suit everyone, from larger maps to much smaller close quarters ones, all are as menacing as each other!

UT2004 has a massive dedicated fan base, more so than even the latest games this means plenty of active users and many custom mods/maps.

I can't comment on the other games as I have not played them yet, but I purchased this for Unreal Tournament 2004 - they appear to load fine.

The included music CD is also a great addition, the Unreal series of music has a very earthy, even "unreal" feel to it! Plenty deserving of a CD!

Highly recommended, and at a great price!

OK, so I know it's actually 4 games in one box, and there are numerous game types in each of those, but I have played and enjoyed the Unreal experience for well over a decade and don't expect to stop any time soon. The graphics of the older games are a little dated, a little harsh, but the gameplay throughout is flowing and engrossing. If you like FPS games, give this a go. I'm still not sick of it after, oh, at least 12 years, so they must have got something right.

I love playing the old Unreal games, but the original Unreal game is better than the gold in gun reload sounds, as in Gold they sound all the same. But the multiplayer of the old unreal or Unreal tournament is fantastic in music, sounds and visual gameplay.
Of course its got nothing on today for graphics but the older games are more fun. I'm not stuck in the past because I like playing the new Halo games, but the old Unreal games have a fun charm about them. :D

As for Unreal 2 and Unreal Tournament 2004; they are just as great in there own way. Unreal 2 is a good story and has detailed graphics (dependent on your computer), and have active threats that can annihilate you easily.

Unreal Tournament 2004 is silly fun, but don't for a second think its easy. The weapons are basically the same just revamped.

I bought these games first time around & for some reason got rid of them. So when I saw 4 for less than I'd paid for one, I just had to.
The daddy at the time for graphics, the Unreal engine is still pretty nifty.
Only thing is, technology (as is it's wont) has moved on & you really need to slow the game down a bit and being that modern PCs are much faster than they were when the games were written, it swings around pretty erratically. Certainly until you get used to it (which I haven't yet because I'm not potting in the time at the moment).
The only criticism I would have is that there was no need for 2 tournaments in one box. I'd sooner have just had the latest & unreals 1 & 2. They're basically the same just with different maps but that doesn't change the gameplay.
Runs on my Windows 7 machine quite happily (if a bit fast), which just goes to show that Epic knew how to code a well behaved Windows game. Or at least how to shoe-horn an old game into a new environment. Not all games run on later versions of Windows.
