You can make a lot of bottles quickly because the bottles just slot in rather than screwing in and out each time.
Whilst it's doing that you can be prepping the next one, which saves more time.
The press button is accurate delivery so single touch no waste, no under or over bubbled bottles.
The remaining gas display is quite accurate so you know when to order replacement.
Drop off / exchange of gas bottles whilst out and about - ours was at McColls newsagent, and saves money with return / exchange discount.
We've just discovered you can get really cheap and original syrups pack of 8 from Prime - half the price.
Our family goes through 5 to 10 bottles a day and this model makes it as quick and easy as it could possibly be. Well worth the extra, gets used more than the kettle!
I prefer the sodastream play. even though it is about half the price, i find it better because:
- The revolution has a safety valve which makes a loud whistling sound when the drink is at maximum pressure. unfortunately the machine doesn't notice this, and the automatic system just keeps pumping gas in. As far as i can tell, this gas goes through the safety valve and is wasted. Sodastream gas is expensive (£10-20 per bottle) and i do not want to waste any of it.
- the noise from the above valve is loud enough that i was concerned it might bother my neighbours.
- the LCD display is mostly a gimmick. the "gas bottle empty" indicator is moderately useful but ultimately, not worth the price for me.
The cheaper model (sodastream Play) lets me manually control the gas, so I hardly waste any. even if I do, its safety valve is much quieter and not likely to disturb my neighbours.
Only negative thing is that no matter how good looking this thing looks the ones that cost £40 still make the drinks taste the same so i guess what im saying is that you are paying soley for the look which is a huge jump in price.
Basically, you just screw in the gas cylinder, plug the machine in and select the fizz level. The machine does the rest and even tells you how much gas you have left in the cylinder, so you know when to get a refill! The gas levels are very good and fizzy and efficient and there is no leaking.
It's extremely swish and modern to look at and just a complete joy to use. I highly recommend it.
This has the easy load mechanism, meaning you just pop your bottle into the machine and push back, no screwing of the bottle is needed, just push back it grips it.
Then you choose how fizzy you would like your drink to be, it fizzes the drink and then it releases the excess gas and tells you its done.
Pull the bottle towards you and it releases it, your done. Super simple!
Then just add your syrup if you want it and drink!
The machine has an, easy to remove, silver drip tray in the base and an easy to remove back plate that covers the gas cylinder.
This model accepts both the standard 60L cylinder and the new 130L cylinders, although they are currently harder to locate, they do make fizzing even less expensive.
You get 12 sample syrups (12L worth) and as I write this, you get another 12 free when you register your machine on their website.
There is also a 60L gas cylinder worth around £20 included as well.
This takes the guessing out of gassing, as the machine takes care of the right amount of gas to add.
I estimate it will save me 300 bottles per year, forget the waste think of the energy making, filling and transporting all that, a brilliant saving for the environment as time goes by.
Plus you can even get drinks not available on the high street yet, such as their drinks made with Stevia, never seen those in the supermaket yet.
I'm sold on it, love it, I recommend buying a spare gas cylinder so you never run out, there is always a full one in the machine and it means no panic when you need to do an exchange.
I also ordered some spare bottles too and some syrups. My friends enjoyed the cola and one said the energy drink was particularly good, i'm a caffeine free person, so can't comment, but it used up the spare syrups in my free lot, LOL
I also used a certain purple drink starting with the letter V and ending in imto, LOL, the diluting kind, pour it in after gassing. Also try adding a twist of lemon or lime to your carbonated water. Also add some carbonated water to some wine for a sparkling wine cooler for a refreshing summer drink.
