This textbook contains some real insights, though the chapter arrangement does not appear to be in a logical procession from what I recall (in other realms, there could be an introduction to macroscopic features, then focus on details, for example). There also seemed to be a lack of critical approaches to capitalism - how psychology could be utilised to create stable egalitarian groups. Challenges to homophobia and sexism were presented well thogh.

At last a book on critical social psychology that makes sense and gives a broad overview of the subject. I was beginning to despair that I had to study CSP having read a number of text books on the subject including the OU DD307 course books which use the worst kind of academic language and leave readers confused and annoyed. This book is like a breath of fresh air. I cannot recommend it highly enough, if not least as a "translator" for anyone having to study the critical psychology approach as part of an undergraduate psychology course.

really good book for the social psychology module of my degree, some things can overlap into other modules so it's useful in that as well. would recommend it to anyone studying psychology at degree level

I have briefly looked over this book. However, I will be reading more in-depth over the summer before my second year of uni starts, to get a heads up on what I am going to cover.
