Fannypack came to prominence with their delightful ode to "frontal wedgies" Cameltoe, and this album delivers the same kind of simple, but insanely catchy, beats and lyrical attitude in spades. At times it is in danger of crossing the line between artiste and novelty act, but there is enough on here to get even the most cynical music lover on their feet and dancing.
Whilst nothign quite matches up to Cameltoe, songs such as Hey Mami, Sugar Daddy and the infectious title track come close and are great tracks in their own right.
Looking at them you might dismiss them as Sugababes wannabe's but don't make that mistake. Whilst they don't quite pull off an entire album of foot-stompers, this is well worth a look.

FannyPack are a girl trio bringing their electro-hip hop style to the game.
Not everybody's taste, but their unique sound is what makes them different to other artists out their. Though they have been compared to the likes of the late 'Salt 'n' Pepa'.
Brooklyn based, these 3 girls (Jessibel - 18, Belinda - 16 & Cat - 23) are putting the fun element back into rap.
They have not had success so far in the U.K. But eventually they may be topping the charts as people become more familiar with their style.
The 1st single 'Camel Toe' was an outrageously funny protest against girls strutting their frontal-wedgies in public. The hilarious video to the larger-than-life song is actually included on the CD. Like most tracks off 'So Stylistic' it is extremely catchy. Take 'Do It To It' for example. The repetitive chorus stays in your head hours on end. The fast beats combined with typical FannyPack lyrics make it an unstoppable joint off the album.
'Sugar Daddy' is quite an explicit sound to this CD exploring more of a sex-related topic. But the humour is obviously continued as the girls take things light-heartedly. Speaking of 'Things' this is track #8 creating a cuter vibe, with simple lyrics that you would find a toddler saying, though annoying it is still effective.
Most of the release's content is suitable for the clubs. Including the Brooklyn bashment 'The Theme From FannyPack', biggin' up their home town and keeping the dance-floor locked. Music on this CD is of a weird mixture with electronic noises combined with DJ and hip hop, a classic example of this is 'Hey Mami' - the 2nd track which becomes too repetitive at times.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not a music nerd 19 Jan. 2004
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com

Ok, so this isn't everybody's style. All I can say is- listen to the previews- if you like it, you'll love the cd. If you don't like the previews, don't expect to hear anything different on the album. I LOVE this cd- these sexy babes are young and mouthy. The producers have mixed styles and sounds in a way that is playful and professional- no one is taking this too seriously (cameltoe) but these guys do know what they are doing. Check it out!

4.0 out of 5 stars Soooooo Fabulistic!!!!! 5 Aug. 2003
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
OK.... I was walking through the record store and out of the corner of my eye, as Im making my way to the door, I spot the fanny pack Album cover. I've made the mistake of purchasing terrible records with fun album art before (boomkat), So I was a little hesitant. Then I see the Cameltoe song title, and decided it was a must . I Love this record. It is Camp at its finest, and will be a classic in your collection. In the spirit of Peaches , Salt n Pepa , Avenue D, and JJ Fad mixed with just enough teen poppish Britney flavor. Buy this Record and throw a dance party in your living room. GREAT FUN!

4.0 out of 5 stars Finally! Booty Music Makes A Comeback! 14 July 2003
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I have been waiting for the return of fun rap music (aka "booty" music), for ages and it's finally happened! Fannypack somehow produced a record that feels old, but fresh at the same time and it's great! Every song is danceable and on this type of record, that's really all that counts! The only low point of the cd would be the song "Things", which sticks out like a sore thumb mainly because its subject matter seems a little too young for these girls to be singing about. Just skip "Things" and the cd seems to flow together much better. Also, don't miss the hilarious interstitials between some of the songs. Bravo, Fannypack! Booty is Back... but did it ever really go away?

4.0 out of 5 stars Ridiculous. Awesome. 10 Jun. 2004
By Elliott Brown - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I rarely delve into the "dance" section of the record store, but Fannypack gave a me good reason to change my ways. With thumping bass, sparce sampling, and screetchy, sophomoric lyrics, this all girl rap trio takes me back to the late 80s when 2 Live Crew and "Push It" era Salt 'N Pepa rocked the airwaves. While songs like Cameltoe ("she had a frontal wedgie -- a cameltoe") are so absurd they seem like Saturday Night Live material, the group's jump rope rapping style is so infectious that the music bears repeated listening. Of the Amazon samples, "Hey Mami" and "Cameltoe" represent the best Fannypack has to offer. If you enjoy those songs and don't find "Do It to It" too frenetic, you'll probably want this album for your next house party.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bringin' it back full circle 11 July 2003
By Matthew Kramer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This album brings back the lyrics and beats that used to make rap music fun. Every song keeps you on your toes, starting out in one direction and sometimes making a 180 degree turn into another entirely original creation. Its not often to hear something today where _every_ track is worth listening to. From the synth beats of the title track, to the thumps of Hey Mami, "So Stylistic" is the hottest thing this summer.
