Nick is a successful businessman. The only area he isn't excelling in is his love life. Lyssa broke his heart and he doesn't understand why she left him. When a snowstorm messes up their plans he and Lyssa are forced to spend more time together. Will they be able to work things out between them? Can Lyssa make Nick understand what she wants from him and is there a chance he will be able give it to her?
Snowbound with Mr. Wrong is a heartwarming winter story. I immediately loved the main characters. Lyssa is sweet and it's easy to make her happy. She knows very well what makes her smile and she enjoys all the little things that matter in every day life without any effort. I liked that very much. I hoped she and Nick could work things out as they have a strong connection. Nick is a problem solver and he doesn't like it when things don't go according to plan. He's quick at changing tactics just to make them work. He's also a passionate and caring man. It's clear from the start there's a lot of love between the main characters and it was obvious to me that they belong together, which is something that made me smile.
Barbara White Daille has a great sense of humor. Snowbound with Mr. Wrong is both funny and romantic. It's a great combination for a perfect Christmas story. The beautiful setting, the large amount of snow, homemade decorations and gifts and abundance of love made this a fabulous festive story. I really enjoyed reading this joyful Christmas story, it's both cheerful and sweet.
Lyssa is coerced into being Miss Elf again this year, by her sister Amber for her annual Christmas gathering for the children of Snowflake Valley. The only reason she agreed was because Amber needed her help, and she promised he wouldn't be playing Santa this year. The minute she heard Santa say "HO HO HO" she was going to kill her sister, she'd recognize that voice anywhere. It was Nick, the same jolly ol' elf she'd met at this same party last year, had a whirlwind romance with and then split up with a few months ago. Yep her sister was gonna pay for this!
The minute he walked into the room and seen her, someone was gonna pay! His business associate Michael and so called friend, convinced him to play Santa again this year. Michael gave him his word that there'd be a new elf this year. No matter how he tried to convince himself, he wasn't over Lyssa, no one could take her place. As soon as he finished this gig he was out of here and away from her again, for good this time.
However Mother Nature had other plans. With a blizzard on the way, everyone packed up and hit the road off the mountain. Lyssa, Nick and three children end up stuck at the lodge, with no phone service until they can be rescued. At least they have shelter, food, water, heat and a generator just in case. How will things turn out between Nick and Lyssa? I loved how Nick dealt with situations with each of the children that surprised Lyssa in the process. Did she really know him, or give him a chance before walking away? You'll have to read SNOWBOUND WITH MR. WRONG to find out what happens. While relaxing and reading this HEA love story, I dreamed of being stuck in a blizzard instead of the rain. I hope you do as well. I received an ARC via IndieSagePR and Entangled Publishing through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
FAVORITE PASSAGES ~
- That just shows you what amazing things can happen when people compromise.
- the best way to show you care is to give gifts that are both meaningful and come from the heart.
- All for one and all for me.
Nick is a hard working, but money orientated man (according to Lyssa). He puts the job before everything; he doesn’t take holidays, and he certainly doesn’t want to be stuck in a small town. Coming from a wealthy but cold background, it’s the only life he knows. Nick shows his affections with lavish gifts and fancy restaurants,
Lyssa is also a hard working character. She’s come from a family that helps each other, and after her mom got sick, Lyssa steps up and runs the home for the family. She takes that into her adult life and works hard to make a success of her business.
Nick and Lyssa were a couple, but things ended when Nick made it clear that he thought Lyssa could do better, aim higher, and get out of the small town that she has always lived in. But both never expected to be thrown together over the festive season.
Lyssa promised her sister to help give gifts to the kids in the town, so again she dons the elf costume and prepares to help Santa spread a little cheer, that is until she realizes who is playing Santa again this year. And Nick isn’t too keen on getting his heart stamped on again. So their first meeting after their break up is a frosty one.
A snow storm traps Lyssa and Nick in the lodge that held the Christmas party. (Lyssa stayed behind to clear up, and Nick couldn’t get a ride down the mountain) and a trio of kids complete the trapped couple.
After trying and failing to get off the mountain, they return to the lodge and wait to be rescued. After clearing the air between them, will they get their wishes and get their happy ending ?
It’s a fun short read, full of laughter and Christmas spirit
