-It is a fun game at times
-the bullet cam kills are cool
-Fairly fast paced
-The music was lively and relevant
-The storyline was uninspired American nonsense, they may as well have cut out the boring tripe cutscenes and let me get on with the massacre
-The game was very short, I think I completed this game in under 4 hours. Paying this kind of money for a game I expect 15 hours+ of decent gaming.
-Aside from the game being short it also has limited replayability aside from increasing the difficulty. The game doesn't really let you take different approaches except for 'stealth' or 'fight through', but the fight through option is more of what happens if you don't play the level correctly, so kind of pointless.
If you can get this game second hand and have nothing better else to do, then this game will offer you a few hours of mild entertainment.
Multiplay is just a sniper battle with a large learning curve.
Over all not a great game. Just make a Cod4 game from where the sniping mission finished. Or remake cod 4 with better balistics systems, lose the kill streaks and focus on a skill multiplayer game. :P
On to the game. It uses the CryENGINE3 I found the graphics not much different from the previous version. It look good-ish but i cant help thinking why did they delay the game. (Official reason is to improve the graphics) I haven't noticed any real difference between this game and the previous version.
The gameplay is quite similar as well. There is the issue of forced to follow your spotter everywere, ie I cant seem to be able or allowed to take an alternate route to a point on the map. Now since I've only played about 40 minutes of it yet that may change. The AI is a bit dumber, I could about 10 meters away from them, shoot them and their partner in crime wouldn't be the wiser. At least with the last game the AI would wander over to your direction hoping to find you. The sniping itself is better, you halfto to be aware of the wind direction and its strength. It comes with night ops mode which I have only used once so far. On a whole the single player so far is the same as the previous version. I will continue to play it to the end.Read more ›
This is not mentioned in the product details online when I bought the product.
I have no wish to use register with and use the STEAM service so have been unable to install the game and therefore wasted my money.
Retailers selling this and other games requiring STEAM should mention it the the product details so potential customers are aware.
Glad when it was finally released and delivered. Install was quick and easy, activating through Steam was simple. I find games like this easier to purchase on a disk and there is less to download through programs such as Steam.
The story is quite short compared to the first game, however, the graphics are incredible, utilizing CryEngine3 as the game engine.
There is replay value in the game, and hopefully the DLC is enjoyable as well. (I'll wait for it to be on sale though, as £8.99 on Steam for DLC is a lot for a student!).
Can't wait for the DX11 patch to be issued though as this game will look incredible!
