This is a great game but it is not Call of Duty. The play is designed for distance/stealth action. Its not BFG playing or charging around. It's slower and more detailed, it requires you as the player to set-up ambushes, use the landscape and think out challenges. It has a greater selection of weapons than the standard game giving you a richer game experience, I have played the standard game package. As you go up levels it tests your skill with harder shooting experiences having to adjust to wind/range.The levels and challenges are well developed making the game fun, but challenging. For an average gamer you will get hours of play on the game and not just find yourself being sold an online experience.

I'd never played the first version of the game, and wouldn't have known it existed if not for an article by Charlie Brooker. In said article, he professed his love for sniper games and not only said that this was one of his favorites, but also gave a great description of the slow-motion bullet shots that the game presents to you if you've got a good shot off. You get to see the bullet fly through the air, and hit the target, and most of the time there's a rather clever x-ray effect that shows your bullet ripping through your target's internal organs and smashing through bone and skull. It's not particularly in good taste, but i'm guessing if you're thinking of playing a sniper game, then you won't really care about good taste. If you're good enough, you can even put a bullet through your enemies testicles (which I've managed to do once, so it's definitely possible). It's a third person shooter, which is a little jarring for someone like myself as I usually go for first-person shooters, but you get used to it. And when you're sniping away it turns into first person anyway. It looks stunning, as they've managed to build war torn Berlin and associated environments in incredible detail. You can change the difficulty of the game, and have "realistic" bullet dynamics as well, so you have to think about distance and wind when you're shooting. With this Game of the Year addition you also get bonus levels and additional online content. one of the bonus levels allows you to kill the Fuhrer, which is especially satisfying.
If you like sniper games, then definitely buy it (especially for this price). Happy hunting!

I've played this game over and over again but the infamous nut-shot still eludes me! Something even more annoying is that my PS3 had died, I can't afford to get a replacement so I'll probably never get the chance to even up Hitlers trouser department! Oh well, such is life.

I like this game because it feels a world away from the run and gun style of most shooters which in no way is meant to be a criticism. If you enjoy the sniper missions in games like Call Of Duty, ('Ghillies in the mist' springs to mind in particular) then you'll like this.

The graphics might not be mind blowing but you don't notice that when you are immersed in the game. The kill cam is brilliant and always makes you want to get a perfect shot rather than just pulling the trigger in the hope that you might hit something.

I hope I'll get a chance to play it again someday, I have unfinished business involving a certain fellow with a stupid moustache and a 7.62mm piece of brass!

while i have only played a short amount of this game so far i am throughly enjoying it. The X-Ray kill cams are awesome and you can either blitz the game or wait it out to get some truely skillful shots you can be proud of. Also with all the DLC included in the price it is well worth it.

The bonus content is excellent. These aren't just shoddy additions that weren't good enough to make the main game. In many cases the locations are more interesting.

In Assassinate The Fuhrer you work up towards a vantage point in order to pick off Adolf himself. But will they really allow you to change history?

Neudorf Outpost is my favourite. You work your way down to sabotage a fuel depot. I enjoyed using the lookout towers to snipe from, and exploring the maze of concrete architecture. You can scan most of this large installation from one vantage point, slowly taking down the guards at the right moment. I've played it through twice, using a different plan both times.

Saint Pierre is a mission in a rural village which once must have been a charming place, now ruined by war. You skulk through the village, clearing it of enemies until you can lure your target there.

The Kill Tally missions are interesting but difficult even on the easy levels. You re-visit locations from the main game but here the enemies come in ever-increasing waves. This allows you to explore the game locations in much more detail. I'm still enjoying looking for the best vantage points.

The only negative I've found with the game is that in a cover position it's sometimes difficult to spring out when the combat gets close up.

Very good ps3 game, campaign is very good with wicked kill shot x ray replays, can be gory for the faint hearted, this is not like COD games its more like the game of "enemy at the gates", you have to allow for bullet drop and wind when aiming just like real life, the online multiplayer is very good but sometimes there is not even enough people online to fill a game lobby, but when its busy its full of regular players who will take you out with a head shot 20 times in a row, get some of your mates on a headset and go free for all or team and have some great fun stalking the good snipers.
