This wonderfully descriptive book takes a darker look into a fantasy world where the chief protagonist faces innumerable trials and tribulations. Snake The Gypsy has many terrific attributes including mesmerising descriptive scenes where the seemingly mundane is transformed into poetry but its unpredictability is arguably the best part of this book. It is easy to assume that cliches would be rampant in this type of story but this novel stays far from the well-beaten path and rewards readers with a rich tapestry of love, hate, forgiveness and envy that is woven by a very gifted author.

For those that are into unusual fantasy with well written and descriptive pros that add to the story, then this is for you. The author is well able to conjure up images of beauty and horror in her tale, regarding the fairy's and goblins. The narrator of the story tells us of her life that is both cruel and barbaric. She encounters jealousy, hatred, and being cast out and unloved. Her story tells us of child abuse and neglect. Her life is one of violence inflicted on her, by those closest and those not so close. The story could be ambiguous, can we trust a gypsy's tale? Overall, this was a good book by a first time author. I hope we see more stories from her. This book is highly recommended.

I loved this story, it was a real page-turner! I got totally lost in the fantasy world of the book and I didn't know what to expect next!! It was very different to other fantasy stories I have read and the author was very convincing in creating this world for the reader. There was emotion, excitement and adventure in her style and I can't wait to read another book from this author!

I have been blown away by this read. The imagery the author provides in Snake the Gypsy is dazzling. I was so captivated by the story that I could not stop reading until I reached the end. I like the way the author ties in the story telling credibility mentioned by the gypsy at the introduction with that mentioned at the end of the book. Cleverly done!
