A good guide for my upcoming trip. The illustrations seem quite basic - I much prefer the format of guides like "Collins Guide to the Birds of Europe", which have very detailed illustrations and comparison drawings with attached notes. A decent sized book for the field.

The book is well laid out and grouped by species. The text is concise and illustrations are clear; the ones showing relative animal sizes being particularly effective. All in all a good reference book and small enough to carry easily.
