"Bill is a wily, scraggly, snaggle-toothed mongrel who absolutely loves icky smells... The illustrations are robust with squiggly characters and awash in watercolors. Reminiscent of Mrs. Wishy-Washy, but with far more delightful rhymes, this is truly tail-wagging fun." - Kirkus Reviews --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

They loved joining in with the phrase "It's Bathie Wathie time for you!" and are amused by all the things Great Aunt Bleach does to try and get Bill the dog to have a bath. They also think it is funny when Aunt Bleach falls into the compost bin.
The messier the story the more the children seem to like it.
I would certainly recommend this story book. The illustrations are colourful and the text is clear and simple.
All in all it is good fun to read. Everytime I ask the children if they would like one of my story books read to them, the most popular request is "Smelly Bill."
Purchased the book (from Welly-Bob Books, excellent service) on the strength of the reviews posted here.
Not disappointed. Laugh out loud funny, my boy is sure to love this and the follow up Smelly Bill Stinks Again.
Kids love it.

The story did make us laugh. But 'Great Aunt Bleach' was a bit of a no no as long explanations as to why she was called this, the meaning of bleach and the danger of using it.Published 7 days ago by P.O.S.H.
