However, the book is faulty, sections appear to be translated by machine or just very badly written. This book is not much use in the UK - British Slow Cookers are set to be hotter than they used to be forty years ago, for health reasons: long low temperature cooking is a great way to breed bacteria. My Slow Cooker would not last 9 plus hours, even on its lowest setting, as it is designed to keep food above a minimum temperature. Admittedly, it only has a simple dial and not a modern timer with warming function. Cooking over 5 hours I had to keep checking every couple of hours - but that was a stew with relatively little water.
One noticeable problem is the author's understanding of "Paleo". Paleo does NOT normally include beans or pulses - as these are seen as requiring a settled existence and relatively complex cooking. Many beans cannot be safely eaten raw, or cooked quickly, even when ripe, so are not considered hunter-gatherer-type foods. The recipes are good and I do include beans in a low-carb diet; but I don't claim it's Paleo!
If you are a fairly competent cook, this will give you some basic guidelines - take a day or two to learn how your cooker works - don't just switch it on and hope, and then you will know if you can leave it all day or not.
However this was a free kindle book so you get what you pay for in the end
I would not recommend it to my friends.....
