By Wyvernfriend VINE VOICE on 30 Aug. 2007
Format: Mass Market Paperback
I have to admit that this is one of my big fears, that someday I'll wake up and my memories will be missing. So there was quite a powerful resonance with Reilly Crane when that's exactly what happened to her.

To add to her problems her normally reliable paranormal powers are fuzzy too, adding to her confusion and disorentiation. She's missing three weeks of her life, the three weeks since she arrived at the beach cottage to rest and reassure a friend that the stories of occult goings-on were nothing to worry about.

What's worse is that she's woken up covered in blood. There's a dead body in the area and she's not sure how she's involved but it's opened up old wounds.

It's fun, light, interesting and I enjoyed it, it did keep me guessing right up to the end as to what was going on and kept me glued to the pages, wanting to know how it was going to resolve and would she recover her memory. I'm a fan of psychic detective stories and really enjoyed this series. Kay Hooper continues to keep me as an avid fan.

This is one of the books in the Noah Bishop series but I have to say it wasn't as good as some of her earlier work. Definitely worth reading if you love Kay Hooper though.

"Special Agent Riley Crane woke up in a beach cottage fully dressed, a gun under her pillow, and covered in blood. Even more frightening, she didn't remember what had happened the night before. She barely remembered anything about the previous three weeks. As the Special Crimes Unit expert on the occult, Riley had been sent to Opal Island by her enigmatic chief Noah Bishop to investigate reports of dangerous occult activity. But she's awoken to discover that she's got a sexy new man in her life and an unreliable memory, and that the clairvoyant abilities she's always depended on to protect her are MIA. Now she'll have to feel her way through a deadly game of blindman's bluff. For what Riley can't remmember is more than enough to cost her her life."
