The sleep guru to the stars explains how to discover your sleep cycle and why naps are essential (Mail on Sunday)
This is a tremendously exciting development and one I wholeheartedly support. Nick Littlehales provides leading professionals in the world of sport, including at Manchester United, with a better understanding of this natural physical and mental process - he enables players to maximise the quality and consistency of their sleep and in turn their overall performance (Sir Alex Ferguson)
Nick Littlehales is an innovative, world-class thinker. He designed the sleep solution for Team Sky's riders - who have now won the Tour de France four times - and British Cycling, who have used his principles of sleep optimisation at the last two Olympics to great effect (Philip Burt, lead physiotherapist, British Cycling)
Nick has revolutionised my recovery process through practical, tailored professional advice (Helen Wyman, European Cyclocross champion)

It's been a really helpful book to read. It would be even better if Nick had any particular strategies to help menopausal women who can wake several times a night, but I understand that's probably not his focus when you have the likes of major football teams asking for your expertise and help.
The author's ego is impossible to ignore. And the information is nothing that can't be found in lots of other places. Far better to buy The Circadian Code by Satchidananda Panda, a true scientist who has done groundbreaking work and actually knows what he is talking about.
Wish I could return the Kindle version, but I don't think it being nauseating is a valid complaint! Thank goodness it cost less than a quid.
Edit, after good results: Uprated to five stars, after a noticeable improvement in sleep quality after only a few days, and only a few changes. Lots more to come!
I like the way he uses charts to show sleep cycles and real world examples with work, social life, daytime saving hours getting in the way of our lives, but not with sleep following his methods.
The greatest thing I have learnt from this book is to utilise the CRP, effectively a nap.
I would recommend the book to everyone. Read with an open mind.
