- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 September 2017This fascinating book has been written by a South African Christian who has worked as a missionary in Nigeria and Sudan, both of which have seen significant conflict between Christians and Muslims. The chapters detailing his personal anecdotes in these countries are the most original and entertaining parts of the book. They serve to support the rest of the book, which draws the following conclusions:
1) Slavery: There were many more slaves in the Islamic World than in the USA, although this is largely overlooked by self-flagellating left wing historians.
2) The Crusades: Islam conquered the Middle East, North Africa and most of Spain, thereby reducing the size of Christian lands by about 60%. Europe’s Crusades should be seen as defensive wars that may have prevented further Islamic conquest of Christian lands, most notably in Europe.
3) Terrorism: This is not a perversion of Islam. It goes hand in hand with it.
The increase in terrorism in Europe makes the book a must read for those who are swallowing the official propaganda that Islam is a “religion of peace”.
I opted for the paperback version as there are numerous illustrations, maps and diagrams that I suspect would be less readable on a Kindle.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 July 2014At long last another courageous man breaks the taboo and produces factual references and records concerning the fruits of Islam. People are few and far between whom dare speak out due to the threats and persecution that generally follows from adherents to the religion of peace. Hammond exposes the truth about slavery and the Islamic connection, he also speaks of the white slaves of Africa so brilliantly presented by Giles Milton in his book 'white gold'. He reveals the brutality of Islam through the ages and the reasons behind the crusades and much more. One of the best books I have purchased from Amazon. Don't buy it if your happy with your spin doctored history.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 May 2013I thought I knew quite a bit about this subject but received a thoroughly researched education by reading Peter Hammond's work. The author is not some behind-the-desk academic but has served on the front line in the face of the hordes representing this ideology.
Peter Hammond takes the reader on a journey, explaining how, before the Islamic ideology started, Christianity had spread throughout the known world. With the rise of a slave-owning, slave-trading group Christianity eventually lost fifty per cent of its believers to slavery and slaughter.
This fine writer explains, with historical references, that Christian lands were occupied and totally over-whelmed by believers in this ideology. Jerusalem and the Holy Lands became Islamic strongholds and Christians attempting to make pilgrimages to Jerusalem were more than likely kidnapped and ransomed or slaughtered by Muslims.
Hammond shows plainly, unlike Islamic scholars of today, that the Crusades were a reaction to the Islamic butchery and prevention of Christians from making holy pilgrimages. The Crusades freed the Holy Land from Islamic control and peace was restored, giving the land back to the rightful owners. The author points out that these facts fly in the face of those Islamic scholars who claim that the Crusaders forced Muslims off THEIR land and made vast fortunes doing so. Most Crusader Knights were financially ruined when they returned home. No plunder. No wealth.
This author agrees that all slavery is abhorrent and presents facts that show that the vast majority of the world's slave trade travelled east, from Africa and Europe, to Muslim countries and that the Muslim slave trade has continued for over 14 centuries and still continues today in some Muslim countries.
Hammond warns that the West is under threat from Islamic terrorists, Islamic ghettoes and Shariah Law. He describes how these fanatics, whom he describes at still living in the seventh century, are gradually, through settling (legally or illegally) and having large families are greatly increasing in numbers in all countries in Europe.
Perhaps the most enlightening part of this book is where Peter Hammond explains the claim that Islam is a religion of Peace. He points out that the concept of peace, as the reader may understand it may not be the same as a fanatical Muslim sees it. To the Muslim, according to their Koran, the world is divided into two parts - the World of War and the World of Peace. This World of Peace only exists where a country is totally inhabited by Muslims who live under Shariah Law. Only then, in this ideology, can there be true peace. The World of War is the rest of the countries on Earth and as the term, by the wording, explains is a Muslim's "duty" to fight, by whatever means, to bring each country under Shariah Law and "convert" every "infidel" to Islam. Only then can that country be a part of the World of Peace.
The writer gives a solution to how the threat of Slavery, Terrorism and Islam can be countered. But why should I ruin the ending for you?
My advice? If you are concerned for your Race and Nation, BUY THE BOOK.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 March 2016This is a book that is not well structured or particularly well written. It is repetitive. Having said this it is very thoroughly researched with numerous references and is therefore an authoritative and impressive work on the subject of Islam. Speaking for myself ,and I think for many others, I have been extraordinarily uninformed regarding the origins and the true nature of Islam as a world religion. I have tended to believe what equally uninformed politicians have wanted me to believe that Islam is a religion of peace and compassion. This book really is a must read to get an altogether more realistic and truer picture of the actuality of Islam both historically and in the world today. It is clear, factual and highly informed. I would recommend it to be read by anyone wishing to have a more realistic appreciation of the the force of Islam in the world today.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 December 2015Shatters the Illusion promulgated within the western narrative that Islam is a religion of peace by exposing the bloody history of violent conflict initiated under the leadership and life of their leader Mohammed. Hammond provides the referenced facts that would be rather embarrassing for the likes of Prime Minister Cameron when you consider he stood on the steps of 10 Downing Street proclaiming the death of Trooper Lee Clegg had nothing to do with Islam. This is a necessary read for those who desire a clearer perspective on the history and culture of the Middle East. Furthermore, as someone who has Muslim friends I've found it a really helpful springboard for discussing the impact of the Islamic religion on the world and offering some facts behind all the emotive fear driven propaganda of the news media

BPReviewed in the United States on 10 April 20225.0 out of 5 stars this book raises awareness using plenty of historical references
I highly recommend reading this book for those interested in history or in the ongoing Islamification of the world. I learned many historical facts that I did not know earlier. The book describes how the slave trade to Middle East was orders of magnitude larger than that to the US. Although Hollywood is vocal about movies on slaves in USA it is mostly silent on slaves in middle east.
Slave trade to the US lasted for about 300 years compared to that taking place over 1400 years to the middle east. Male slaves in middle east were castrated and female slaves were used for sexual exploitation. Babies born to female slaves were killed to maintain numerical superiority of Arabs. That is a prime reason as to why we do not see many descendants of slaves in middle east.
The book provides plenty of historical references where millions of non-muslims were slaughtered during centuries of jihad. During most Islamic raids, libraries/churches/temples were razed and mosques were erected in their place.
Saudi Arabia funds thousands of mosques / madrasas all over the world. However, there is not a single temple, church or other non-muslim place of prayer within Saudi Arabia because it is banned by Saudi law.
This book raises awareness using plenty of historical references.

ASideThoughtReviewed in the United States on 30 June 20215.0 out of 5 stars Quickly increases the understanding of Islam.
The fact that the author is Christian does not limit him or "narrows" his perspective. Please do not let that fact keep you from reading this well written and researched book. It appears to me the author has done his homework. He has a good grasp on Islam, its beginning; how it grew, and its devastating effect on other religions. I wanted a quick read on Islam. And to use a fairly common cliché, this book "did not disappoint." Please read this book. American and European public are woefully uneducated on this subject. This information is necessary. Islam is no religion of peace even to those who practice it. I wanted a quick read on Islam, and this provided more then I expected.

Another novel that is well presented with lots of facts. Since Islam is the "topic of the moment" I would recommend that more people read it to get a better understanding of why this "religion" is so controversial.
