About the Author

Pat Mills is the creator and first editor of 2000 AD. He developed Judge Dredd and is the writer-creator of many of 2000 AD’s most popular stories such as Sláine, Nemesis and A.B.C. Warriors. Amongst his credits are Marshal Law (Marvel and DC Comics), co-created with Kevin O’Neill, the French graphic novel series Requiem, Vampire Knight with artist Olivier Ledroit, and Be Pure! Be Vigilant! Behave! The Secret History of 2000 AD and Judge Dredd. His current projects include Joe Pineapples: Tin Man, illustrated by Simon Bisley and Clint Langley, Spacewarp, and Kiss My Axe! The Secret History of Sláine the Warped Warrior.

Clint Langley began his 2000 AD career with the fully painted artwork of his co-created series Dinosty. He quickly went on to illustrate Judge Dredd, Nemesis the Warlock, Outlaw, Sinister Dexter and Tales of Telguuth. His striking mixture of fully painted art and digital manipulation on Sláine and the ABC Warriors has made him a firm favourite with fans. As well as working for 2000 AD Langley has produced covers for Games Workshop and Marvel (with striking covers for The Punisher, Wolverine and Ghost Rider amongst others), produced art for World of Warcraft and Magic: The Gathering, and is the winner of the 2007 Inquest Gamer Fan Awards for Best Artist.

Slaine Books of Invasion Vol. 2
Written by Pat Mills, creator of 2000 AD, this new trilogy about Slaine MacRoth brings us back to the Land of Tir Nan Og. Mills delves into the mythology of pre-Irish/Scotish culture and twists the legends and historical facts into new shapes and adjusts it all to the characters involved. So the battle continues and an unexpected alliance between Slaine and the Atlantean tribes is forged to try to stop the madness of the relentless Sea Devils. But will the efforts of Scotia, the Egyptian Queen and Gael, the future High King of Ireland, be enough to stop Lord Odacon? It seems Slaine must turn to a greater power to prevail. How does it all translate into pictures? Well, I was amazed by the graphic style of Clint Langley. The artwork is sublime and there's a lot of detail and passion put into it. Langley combines the drawing art with modern computer techniques which allows him to deliver stunningly detailed expressions of the characters. There's some realism to it which makes it all convincing. I love it! The atmosphere is vivid and it sucks you right into the world created by Mills and Langley.

a must for any fan!
the use of "real"images "blended in" has upset some comic book traditionalists, but i think the artist, clint langley, has used real myth and magic in his art and to tell a story of slain-you need it!
go get the trilogy.......
