I enjoyed the author's and friends' adventure into unknown forests and rivers meeting some dangerous and interesting characters in places that had little if any contact with the outside white world.
The only criticism I have is that the whole adventure went so quickly and I was left with wanting to know more about the peoples, their way of life, and the places they had visited. There is a lot about the travel part but the book is short on the people part, I thought. That said I would recommend this book to anyone I mentioned in the beginning of my comment. It was interesting and had an element of tension and thrill with their encounters with the different tribes they met.
