I absolutely adored Evie, she is the type of person everyone should emulate - kind, caring, forgiving, generous, compassionate - the whole package without losing herself or becoming a doormat in the process.
Evie is aware of Grey's reputation and although the sparks are flowing both ways, Evie is self-aware enough to realize that she probably wouldn't be able to handle the aftermath of an affair with Grey. That is until circumstances create an opportunity whereby Grey pretends to be Evie's boyfriend in exchange for time spent intimately with her. The circumstances themselves are unconventional, Evie is the maid of honor at her best friends wedding who happens to be marrying Evie's Ex. Fluffed up, definitely, but Evie is such a wonderful person who believes in true love enough to forgive the betrayal (although I have to say there was no cheating involved).
As Evie and Grey navigate their way through wedding preparations, they get to know each other on a deeper level and to the amazement of them both, they connect on more levels than just the physical. Although their relationship started as fake, it is quickly obvious that it could turn into something real for them both if they are just brave enough to take that leap.
However, there are other personalities at play creating unexpected drama llama for everyone concerned and placing an obstacle in the path of Evie and Grey's fledgling feelings; exasperated by Grey's inability to deal with his emotions.
I loved the inclusion of Maddox and Joss in Skirt Chaser, especially the help and guidance they offer Grey. The continuation of their story added a sense of completeness to the story as a whole and I especially adored the epilogue. Love can take you by surprise, happen in a short amount of time but requires bravery and commitment - Grey and Evie alongside Maddox and Joss are terrific examples of how those traits are rewarded ♥
Right, now that we've established that this book brought out the nympho in me, we should move on to the plot. So, the plot— although it's not a story that has never been written and explored, in my opinion Stacey Kennedy has breathed fresh, zingy, vibrant life into it. Especially with her characters. I like that it falls into the holiday/ destination romance bracket, I love that although it is a sexy romantic comedy it still maintains a level deepness that doesn't allow it to become a lighthearted and blasé romance. In my opinion Kennedy did a stunning job of the plot development and it was fabulous how she integrated it with her character development. We start off casual and the sex is fun and epic and as the plot develops and Grey and Evie begin to see deeper into each other the plot becomes more serious and anchored, and even the sex amps up on the intensity and becomes mind-shattering and earth moving. I just couldn't and still can't get enough of Grey and Evie and even though they are brilliant characters, what actually made so desperate and had me so hooked was the plot. It was so exciting to have such a fresh take on the whole pretend couple storyline.
When it came to the characters in this story, at first, I was a little unsure. Grey has a history with the ladies and Evie is still taken with her ex... I don't now, I just felt like it was all to much to get into one book without it become to passive about their histories. HOWEVER, again, Stacey Kennedy managed to get all facets of these characters into the spotlight throughout the story and she did such a thorough job of it that it felt like I personally knew both Greyson and Evie. I didn't just feel like I was following their story, but rather I felt like a part of it. If that makes sense? Grey is every bit the alpha hero that a romantic craves. He's strong and has a tenacity, obviously he's killer sexy, but he has a such a beautiful heart. I loved getting to know him better and deeper throughout the story, it felt as though I was getting to know a real person. Evie, she's just so freaking sweet... yet, she has this sass and fire that make her drop dead gorgeous and, if I'm honest, had me developing such a massive girl crush on her!
All in all, Skirt Chaser was just fabulous. I cannot wait for more from the Filthy Dirty series, even if I have to go back and read Heartbreaker (book #1), another thing I loved about this book was that I didn't feel like it spoiled the first book. This is truly a standalone. I'm still so excited over Skirt Chaser and I just know that this is going to be a staple series for me. You know... those series that you have to read at least once every year!

Evie was super relatable to me. She's nice to a fault; supporting her best friend even though it put her in a tough situation. Even though she's hurting she's not looking for revenge-something Grey is looking for on her behalf, for selfish reasons. I didn't love the situation Evie found herself in, but I really did truly understand it. Some people might think she's too forgiving but I don't think so.
Holy Greyson. This is a man who knows what he wants and knows how to get it. I love the fact that he refused to mix business with pleasure-it heightened his time when he was finally with Evie in my opinion. Hot, sexy, confident, and smart? All good qualities Grey has. Now, he's certainly not perfect. He has issues of his own that he has to work through, which he did just in the nick of time in my opinion.
There's no denying the chemistry in this book. When these two are together? It's steamy, it's sexy, it's hot. I definitely believed in the attraction and feelings between these two. I loved seeing what was happening to their fake relationship and seeing how they each handled it.
I thought the writing was strong in this book, and that it was well paced. I enjoyed the journey these characters took together. I will definitely be checking out more from this author. While Skirt Chaser is technically book 2 in a series, I read it as a standalone and absolutely followed the story just fine. I would recommend this book.
Greyson and Evie - where to start? I loved how Stacey wrote their story and the pace was just perfect. We met Grey in Maddox's book, Heartbreaker, but we really get to know him in Skirt Chaser. He is always upfront with the women in his life and that way they don't get clingy. He knows from the first time that he sees Evie that he has to have her, but he has to wait until she is no longer working for him before that can happen. Poor Grey, because Evie thinks he is hot and does everything that she can to make Grey crave her.
Grey gets the perfect opportunity to spend time with her, but will he blow it in the end?
This is a must read series, both Heartbreaker and Skirt Chaser are amazing books.
Greyson is a successful architect and he has had his eyes on Evie, the beautiful interior designer, however their business contract is able to conclude so now is the time the make his move.
When he finds out about Evie’s dilemma he offers to spend the weekend with her as her date so that everyone in town will not feel sorry for her but will they be able to convince everyone and what happens when the weekend ends?
I loved these two characters as Evie is so selfless when it comes to those she loves and Greyson is so protective about Evie. The chemistry, humor and emotional make this an enjoyable read.
What starts out as just a weekend together at the wedding, turns to so much more. Grey is known as a love 'em leave 'me guy. Women in his past have known this from the beginning, but Evie and Grey have chemistry that sizzles and they enjoy getting to know each other. I loved the spark they had between them and facing their own fears to find their HEA.
