The first 38 pages of this 93 page book contain meal planners, slow cooker tips and 5:2 tips. There are only 31 actual slow cooker recipes and some of them are extremely simple: slow cooked corn on the cob.. really? Then there's the recipes at the back for.. fruit salad.. not a SL recipe, smoothies.. not requiring a slow cooker, cauliflower rice made in the microwave. All in all I am disappointed that even though it's a small book it isn't filled with 5:2 slow cooker recipes.. the rest is padding.

Th is well-organised diet explains the basic principles of the 5:2 diet and provides a number of weekly meal plans before the recipe section. The recipes are good and each contains suggestions for accompaniments to the meal. The book says that these are not for 5:2 followers, which I don't quite understand, since one should be able to eat fairly normally on five days out of seven. More explanation is required at this point. A calorie count is given for each recipe (without the accompaniments) but it might be helpful if the recipes were arranged an the basis of the number of calories, to facilitate making choices on a 500 calorie day.

Great recipes good variety and easy , so nice that some of them we have on non diet days with carbs such as rice and pasta. Only the two of us so can make a batch and freeze half for another day great as we both work long full time hours - does it work YES we have both lost a stone in eight weeks
