From the manufacturer
Premium British working dog food, made at our own Suffolk mill
Our Field & Trial diets have been specially developed for working dogs and the range provides for every need, throughout their lifetime.
Field & Trial diets have been specifically developed for the needs of working dogs.
Skinner's are proud sponsors of the England Gundog Team.
British made, high quality and nutritious complete food for working dogs, made at our own Suffolk mill.
- Recommended by breeders and gun dog owners.
- Specially formulated to meet the needs of working dogs.
The Skinner’s family have been milling at Stradbroke in Suffolk since 1688
Today we make a range of excellent foods for working dogs, whatever their age, breed or condition.
Much has changed since it all began, the mill has long since gone to be replaced by the very latest state-of-the-art equipment, but the same family passion still continues today.
Our Field & Trial range has been developing since the early 1970s, when it all began with just two products. As our reputation grew and customers demanded different diets to suit their working dogs' needs, so the range has expanded.
There are currently 14 products in the range covering every stage in a working dog's life, from whelping bitches and puppies to hard working dogs, resting dogs and those older ones that still like a bit of exercise, but might not be as keen and lively as they once were.
High performance diets for working dogs, whatever their life stage, breed or condition.
Field & Trial hypoallergenic diets for adult working dogs
Our Field & Trial hypoallergenic diets have all been specifically formulated to exclude ingredients that are known to cause sensitivities or allergies. Therefore reducing the likelihood of associated skin, coat and digestive problems.
There are currently three flavours to choose from in the Field & Trial hypoallergenic adult diet range.
Duck and Rice and Salmon and Rice are both big favourites with many of our customers, whilst the Turkey & Rice has the added benefit of a joint aid supplement. They are all free from wheat, maize, barley, soya and dairy products.
All three also contain glucosamine and chondroitin to help protect your dog's joints and mobility and they also include a coating of sunflower oil, which is a valuable source of energy and helps to maintain a healthy coat.
Field & Trial diets for less active or senior dogs
Our newly launched Field & Trial Light & Senior dog food is ideal for older, overweight or less active working dogs. It is wheat gluten free, made with easily digestible chicken and contains enhanced levels of glucosamine and chondroitin.
Like humans, some dogs can be prone to weight gain as they become older or less active. Neutered or spayed dogs can also be prone to excessive weight gain due to reduced energy requirements.
Older, overweight or less active dogs still need a carefully balanced diet with high quality ingredients to maintain their health and condition. Field & Trial Light & Senior contains everything required to keep your dog in the peak of health.
Field & Trial Maintenance for the closed season and Muesli Mix for added bite
Field & Trial Maintenance dog food is specially formulated to meet the typical needs of working dogs during the closed season. It contains all the goodness of chicken with cereals, oils and vitamins, but with a lower level of protein to suit a lighter workload.
Field & Trial Muesli Mix has been carefully formulated to meet the needs of working dogs with a moderate workload. It consists of a variety of tastes and textures coated in a delicious, moist wheat glucose syrup that even fussy dogs will tuck into and enjoy, every meal time.

I spent many hours researching many different dog foods for my dog before deciding on field and trial.
Skinners ingredients list and percentages is comparable to other brands which are twice the price, Skinners is much cheaper and better value.
The hypoallergenic aspect of the food is also excellent, my German Shepherd often suffered with stomach issues and moving to this food cleared it up very quickly.
It has kept his coat looking excellent and helped him maintain an excellent physique.
Also being a German Shepherd the addition of the extra Glucosamine and Chondroitin for joints is a great added bonus.
I have fed my dog this for 6 years and have recommended it to many people and will continue to do so.
As mentioned I have researched many foods on the sites available and am always looking for a highly rated food at a value price which can be quite difficult with many brands of food costing £50-60 a bag. Sadly that is not in my budget but with this food it is not necessary. This food is rated very well on independent sites for it's quality and content. My dog loves it and he look's great and is always healthy.
This food is priced the same or less as a lot of rubbish low quality food that is not good for your loving dog. Animal derivatives are not good. Feed your animal a food they deserve without breaking the bank.
