A beautifully written account of the joys and challenges encountered in coming to terms with and living with the realities of having a child with severe disabilities. Written from the perspective of a profound christian faith, Rachel shares honestly and with integrity about making sense of disappointed hopes and dreams, the challenges her family's life brings and how faith in God can sustain and carry even through doubt and disappointment. An uplifting and encouraging book that honestly acknowledges the struggles and heartbreak along with the complexities and assurances that faith in God brings

I thoroughly enjoyed this book - I couldn't put it down. I admire the honesty in its pages - baring thoughts that are shocking but absolutely understandable. This family have been through so much trauma and are living a life that nobody would ever choose. But their strength and determination are inspiring. And their love for their two boys shines on every page. Thank you for sharing your story.

This book is incredible; it is so beautifully written, touching and honest. It opens your eyes to the reality of what it is like to bring up a child with complex needs. Rachel writes in such a flowing hand that takes you on the journey with her and her family; the highs and lows. You may need a box of tissues by the side of you - I know I did.

Honest, heart felt and beautifully written story about two parents whose lives and dreams change dramatically after their new born child is diagnosed with severe brain damage. You find yourself glued to the page, overwhelmed by the emotions and struggles the family are going through. The book is written with such love and honesty that the reader is at one moment laughing and in the next overcome with tears. Ultimately, you cannot but admire the strength, bravery and devotion displayed in overcoming the challenges this beautiful family face.
This book is truly inspirational and for me it reveals a beautiful message - have strong faith, choose love, live for the present and cherish every moment in life.
Thank you Rachel for opening the door to your world.

it is difficult to do justice in reviewing such an amazing book where Rachel shares her heart and life concerning her journey since having become a mum. Not the journey she was expecting, hard but not the same as bad she concludes. It feels as if you are her friend that she is confiding in and other than the emotions attached to such a story it is very easy to read, with fairly short chapters if you only have a few minutes to read at a time. There is great wisdom within these pages, but handed over in a natural conversational way that causes you to pause and just re read that last sentence that you read as you recognise its truth. This is a book for anybody and everybody that we can learn how we can help and not hinder each other on our journeys through life.
