Ski Region Simulator. Sounds boring, doesn't it? You'd be wrong. Seriously wrong. GIANTS has again excelled themselves in making a realistic and fun simulation.
You start off with two ski lifts, one slope and one vehicle. To begin with, you have to "Groom" the slopes, using a Snow Groomer. This is not actually as boring as it sounds, and a well groomed slope is more likely to make more revenue!
When you have finished grooming the first slope, (or even in the middle of doing so) you may see (unless you have switched it off) a mission appear. To complete this mission, you must first (if you have not already) buy a snowmobile and the two types of transport sled. (Object Transport and Passenger Transport) When you have done this, you must then hook up your sled to your snowmobile, drive to the place where you pick up the object or person, then drive to either the destination highlighted with a green circle on the map, or drive to the Rescue Centre (In the case of a person).
Overall, this game is very well made. Here are some Pros and Cons.
Pros:
Large & Detailed Map
Realistic Vehicles
Mini-games to keep you busy
Loads of Mods (Modifications)
Realistic People
"Synchronizing" Times Improved (Multiplayer)
Very Difficult to crash

Cons:
Shadows only generated a certain way ahead of you
Mini-games are all the same (but still fun)
Not enough Fuel Stops
Some Multiplayer Bugs (Being fixed in patches)

So, overall, I think that this game DOES deserve its five star rating. Although it can be tedious sometimes, it'll keep you busy for hours on end.

Product was purchased for my simulator mad 8 year old son, however, I like to sneak a quick go on it when I can.

If you are familiar with any of the other excellent Giants simulator products (Farming Simulator, Crane Simulator, etc.), then this is another outing for the graphics engine found in Farming Simulator 2011. I love the skiers flying by, but collision detection should be better if you slam one of your clients off the side of your piste basher!

As before, my son loves the mods (additional vehicles, maps, objects, etc.), that people create and I have to say there are some very talented people creating mods for the whole series of games. I like it because it subtly teaches him economics and work ethic, whilst he is still having fun.

If you like simulators and you like mountains, then get the software... enough said.

This game is very fun to play BUT:

I find myself having to use a different computer which I don't want to as it tells me on my normal one that my drivers need updating, however it does not explain what I have to do! (Help!!)

Anyway, the game itself is great. The graphics are relatively decent, and the ability to download a variety of maps and vehicles are great. There are one or two occasions where it has gone a little odd, and one or two things that should be improved, but this is the same as any game.

Firstly if you`re looking for a skiing game this isn`t for you. In Ski Region Simulator you take on the role of a ski resort manager, investing in and growing your business. When you start all you have is one vehicle, one ski slope, a chair lift and two stations connecting your slope. The first thing you have to do is groom your slope,(or hire a worker to do it for you) which is actually quite fun. Also sometimes your slopes need extra snow which can be provided by snow transport or with snow cannons(these are very expensive and I just hired workers when I started but now I`m more established I look forward to getting one) Whenever it snows
slope groom level goes down to zero so you have to groom them again(the slopes groom level goes down any way but that's easy enough to control if you just hire workers while the cost is reasonably low). I admit this can be challenging when you have more slopes but as you get more slopes you also get more ways to make money to hire workers. After a few months I now have six stations, eight slopes and various facilities(spa, restaurant and ski rental to name a few).
Overall this is a brilliant game any simmer should have. But if you would prefer more to do than groom slopes and not have to worry about statistics then check out Farming Simulator 2013 which is made by the same company.
P.S I am not a gamer I prefer simulators(Flight sim,Farming sim, bus sim etc). If you like all the violent games that are popular at the moment then this probably isn`t for you.

Little information to know what you're supposed to do; if you were thinking you'd learn about running a ski resort, forget it, all you learn how to do is drive the snow cat, snow mobile and scoop up the crap skiers that are encircled by green halos.

the game is about being a ski resort 'manager' (but you do most of the work ) its basically the same as farming simulator 2011 , you look after your slopes and earn money from keeping them in good shape, you can use all sorts of accessories such as snow cannons. the game is well worth the buy giving endless hours of fun if your into these types of games.
