The shoes are very, very comfortable indeed. They're plentifully padded and the deep sole seems to provide excellent shock absorbtion. Walking in them takes a little bit of getting used to, as the curvature of the sole doesn't place your feet fully flat on the floor.
What really works about these for me is that they help to balance my gait - I have very high arches and a tendency to underpronate which seems to be markedly reduced by the different style of walking required from Shape-Ups.
Although I'm generally pleased, sizing really is a bit of an issue. I take a 5.5 and normally round up to 6s when buying shoes and half sizes aren't available. At first try, I ordered my usual size 6s. My feet were absolutely swamped. Not only were the shoes a good bit longer than my feet, but even laced as tightly as I could get them the opening at the top was so large my feet kept sliding back out. I exchanged them for size 5s and these seem to be a much better fit.
