My Airport Card fried on my expired AppleCare laptop and the Apple Store informed it would cost close to £420 and 2 weeks in the shop to replace the logic board which the Airport Card is attached to...with rumors about a whole newly designed Macbook Pro coming out next year, I dont want to invest in fixing a 3 year old laptop, replace it with a current one which will be irrelevant in a year so the next best thing was to get my wifi up and running with a USB lan adapter.
I am going on holiday in 3 days for 3 weeks and the ONLY way to get online where we'll be is the wifi in the sky so I had to move quickly in making sure it was worth bringing my machine along.
I 1st bought 2 adapters that wouldn't even read the adapters whether it be old drivers, none updated online, or simply not designed to work on OS 10.6...until this little monster.
Sure it cost more than the others I tried but upon installing the driver from the CD-rom (designed for 10.5 mind you!) to the plug and easy setup of finding and storing my signal, this thing cruises at the same speed of my Airport Card. I've yet to test run it outside the house but so far so great! For Mac, I highly recommend it.
