I've only read Louise's most recent book The Surrogate not long ago and I loved it so much I decided I need to go back to her previously published titles.
I picked The Sister as it was mentioned so much and so highly recommended I couldn't wait to read it.
Story so believable, so intense, so sad but gripping. Pain of losing someone and not quite understanding why, grief but guilt following Grace for many years until she meets Anna, and finally feels close to her long lost friend, through her 'half' sister.
Little did she know that person she invites into her house, her life and introduced to her family is someone completely different she thought and felt so strongly towards to.
Real page turner for me and found it difficult to focus on any daily tasks without thinking when I can finally pick my kindle up and read some more.
Story being written from Grace's POV was very revealing and offered great insight into her life and feelings of grief and guilt. Without realizing that there is so much more hidden, to be revealed.
Without saying too much, I can recommend this book to any suspense thriller lover and I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.
I cannot wait to read more from Jensen. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who likes well crafted, darkening thrillers. Or to anyone who just loves books.
The pacing of this book is great, a real page turner - it is gripping from start to end.
I found the character of Grace simply annoying. She came across as being really quite weak and stupid. Apart from that I found it an interesting read. It wasn’t exactly riveting but it was enjoyable. Some parts struck me as just being ridiculously unrealistic.
Overall, 4/5 stars.
