I’ve read all of this author’s books and loved every one, so I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that this is her best work, yet.

This novel was epic and held a whole gamut of emotions: excitement, frustration, despair, love, hate, desire, pain.

Sevin has been raised in a religious home, with his father, stepmother and three half-brothers, where there has been little physical affection. He’s a young man full of anger and rebellion. When his father dies, a new opportunity is presented to Sevin – to marry a gentle, biddable Christian girl and work for her father’s company, with a view to eventually head it up, one day. He’s keen to leave his stepmother’s house, so with no other options available to him, he takes this chance to start anew.

On his way to his new life and home, he meets beautiful, free-spirited, and slightly wild Evangeline, and ends up spending some time talking to her. It is only when they exchange names that the wild girl runs away.

Then later that evening, Sevin realises who she is….his soon-to-be-wife’s older sister.

God, this book! This book!!! It was pretty perfect. It’s a story of forbidden love – loving the one you can’t have. It’s an impossible situation and their yearning is very real. No matter what they do, someone will get hurt.

The author is not afraid to crush the reader’s hopes in the same way that the characters’ hopes are crushed. My heart felt so heavy at times during this novel. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not as depressing as it sounds – there are even the odd, unexpected laugh-out-loud moments. Sevin and Evangeline go through these experiences for a reason. Their love is enduring. Their actions are selfless and noble. Their second chance is redeeming. The conclusion is absolutely and tearfully life-affirming. The closing two words left me with a smile and a few tears.

I can’t recommend this passionate, well-written book enough! #TopRead2015

What can I say about this book ... it was definitely a surprise read and not at all what I was expecting.. I have read all of Penelope Wards books but this book is like no other.. I cant find the right words to do this book justice ,, it was just wow... but am gunna try ...

Sins of Sevin was heart breaking, devastating, exhausting, a complete surprise, emotional forbidden romance.

Sevin Montgomery comes from a strict religious family, his father passes away and his step mom no longer wants him around so sets up an arranged marriage to the sweet Elle, if he agrees to the marriage he gets to move away from his awful step mom and gets to run a company that he will eventually inherit from his future father-in-law.. Sevin jumps to the chance as this will be a great new start for him and also Elle is a sweet, pretty girl.

On the drive to his new life his car breaks down, a girl on a bike stops to help.. enter Evangeline.. from the moment they set eyes on each other the chemistry is explosive and they have a instant attraction, Evangeline fixes the car and Sevin is Shocked as hell that this beautiful girl can fix a car..
They sit and chat fro a while and find they have a lot in common , also have the same dreams for the future..
everything is great until Evangeline learns Sevin's name and she is shocked to find that he is in fact her sisters future husband.....so she runs off without another word..
Until dinner that night where Sevin discovers that the girls he has thought about all day in no other than his soon to be sister in laws..

In Sins of Sevin we are taken on a emotional rollercoaster..

I like a good forbidden romance, this was great in places and seemed to drag in others and I was virtually willing it to be over. I guess looking at the amazon reviews my thinking is in the minority.

Although I thought at the start this book dragged slightly, it certainly picked up and was a beautiful heartfelt read, a true love story if you like. I love Penelope Ward's books, Stepbrother Dearest and My Skylar are among my absolute favorites. This book didn't disappoint.
Sevin has been bought up in a loveless family, his mother dying and his father taking another wife who was very religious who thought even having a cuddle was a sin. He get's the chance to leave town and go to live with one of his Father's old friends that runs a business, on the condition that he marries his daughter Elle. He see's this a his one chance to get away from his overbearing stepmother and her old fashioned ways. On the way to his new home, he bumps into a Evangeline whom he is instantly attracted to, they chat and bond in a way that he has never felt before. They go their separate ways and no one is more shocked than when he sits down to dinner that night with his new family, in walks Evangeline. She turns out to be Elle's older more rebellious sister. They are both shocked at what this means and how they will deal with the feelings that are pretty obvious between them considering he is there to "court" and marry Elle.
This book is full of angst, fear, love, hate, passion, sadness, everything that makes a great story and which Penelope Ward does best.
Although not my favourite Penelope Ward book, do not miss out on reading this one !! It's a keeper
