Review

Praise for "Singularity""[A] well-written debut..." --"Library Journal""There's a new Ranger in town, and she's profiler Sarah Armstrong. . . . Let's hope she'll be around for a good long while...A harrowing debut."---C. J. Box, author of "Blue Heaven" and "Blood Trail""Speaking as a former cop, I'd work a case with Texas Ranger Sarah Armstrong any day. She's a smart and savvy investigator, definitely a force to be reckoned with. More important, Casey delivers a strong and chilling novel, proving that she can write fiction with the same compelling authority in which she pens true crime."---Robin Burcell, author of "Cold Case, Fatal Truth, " and "Deadly Legacy"""Singularity" starts on a high note and never lets up. Kudos to Kathryn Casey for her creation of Sarah Armstrong, a complex and memorable character sure to appeal to all readers. "Singularity" is a bright new star in the mystery genre."---Jessica Speart, author of "Unsafe"" Harbor"," Restless Water," and "Border Prey""An impressive fiction debut for truecrime author Casey, whose memorable heroine has brains, moxie, and heart. Happily for readers, this is the first in a series." --"Booklist "(starred review)

4.0 out of 5 stars Casey's Texas Ranger Sarah Armstrong is the one to look out for! 17 Feb. 2012
By Regina Niesen - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Goodreads Description- Profiler Sarah Armstrong knows what it's like to be in a sticky situation. As a single mother and one of the few female Rangers in Texas history, she has had to work twice as hard to rank among the best cops in the Lone Star State. But when megawealthy businessman Edward Lucas III is found murdered along with his mistress, their bodies posed in grotesque ways, Sara quickly senses that this will be the deadliest case of her career. While others focus the investigation on Lucas's estranged wife, Sarah disagrees and hunts a suspect only she believes in. Yet nothing in her career could have prepared her for the horror of a young man who believes he has been sent from heaven to massacre innocent people. When Sarah picks up on the killer's elusive trail, following his scent all over Texas, the psychopath makes her his next target. And as Sarah closes in, the madman sets his sights on all she holds dear. Singularity features a feisty, funny, and tough heroine and a truly creepy killer, as it races along to a chilling and unexpected climax.

I accidently discovered this author by randomly picking her second book in the Sarah Armstrong trilogy, The Killing Storm. I was so happy with that novel, that I decided to read the other books in the trilogy. This book is fast paced and draws the reader in from page one. I like how the author doesn't waste time describing transitions between scenes and constantly gets to the drama of the story. That is what keeps the pace so fast paced. I love the relationship Sarah has with her daughter and mother and the balance between being a mom and a Ranger is told in a very real way. Basically that the balance is hard, no matter what circumstances you are in. Although we have heard the story of a killer committing his atrocities in the name of God, the pace is so fast the Casey keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. I highly recommend this book. I think Kathryn Casey's Sarah Armstrong could be the next profiler in fiction that readers have been craving. 4 stars!

Very good book, told from her point of view, it's very well narrated it.

The suspense builds up quickly, I highly recommend it as a distraction from a routinary life.

Very well written, psychopathic book.

It keeps you clinging onto it until the last moment.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Fiction Read! 17 Jun. 2013

As with all of her books, true crime and now fiction, Casey has done her research and provided readers with an interesting and exciting read. As a fan of her true crime novels, I wasn't sure how I would feel about her fictional work, but I was not disappointed. I have already purchased books 2 & 3 of the Sarah Armstrong series and look forward to reading them as I await Casey's next true crime book! I recommend giving these books a try... you won't be disappointed.

A thoroughly enjoyable fiction novel by this usual true crime author. The writing is clear and straightforward. A comfortable read with an interesting heroine, a female Texas Ranger.
