Send your little computer people on a holiday they'll never forget - or perhaps even survive. The first ever expansion pack for the smash hit The Sims 3 allows your sims to travel abroad to discover new cultures and visit famous landmarks.
Take in the sights, sounds and souvenirs of Egypt
Are your sims brave enough for a spot of tomb raiding?
Take a ride on the new scooter as you explore France
Learn a martial art or just enjoy the local cuisine
This isn't just a sight-seeing tour though, your sims can learn new skills and gain new life goals from their visit, as well as a suitcase full of exotic items and treasures. Whether it's learning martial arts in China, "nectar"-making in France or tomb-raiding in Egypt there's much more to do on these virtual holidays than just laze around on the beach.
Foreign sims have unique personality traits and if your sims get on with them they can invite them back home - although you may want to upgrade your house first with the new building and customisation tools. It all adds up to a dream holiday that neither you nor your sims will forget.Key Features
- Holiday of a lifetime: Don't just send your sims on holiday, send them on a globe-trotting adventure in China, France and Egypt.

It's more than 20 years since Will Wright created SimCity and his development company Maxis. A lot has changed in that time, including the rise of The Sims as the studio's biggest game, but after being bought by EA elements of the team still work on the series and new titles such as Spore.

The game comes with some new content, not alot though; however there are new traits as well. There are a lot of new furniture pieces for Sim's houses. The actual game adds the photography skill and the martial arts skill as well as a few other Lifetime Wishes.
In the different locations your sim has the ability to raid tombs - as well as make nectar.
Overall this game adds alot of features to the game, and definitely worth it to pay the money.
however if you think this game is going to be like sims 2 Bon Voyage, you would be sadly misstaken. Bon Voyage has alot more things to do in the game overall!, you had a vacation memory log which gave you the incentive to complete everything in it like sight seeing, trying the local dishes etc.. whereas you don't get anything like this in world adventures, nowhere near as much stuff to explore and do.
In all honesty i've been playing the sims from when the original sims games came out and they just seem to be trying to revisit all the old games in the new expansion packs, without success.. they should be trying to come up with some new original ideas..
Overall i do think its a really entertaining expanison pack, but as with most sims 3 expansion packs these days they could always be better. The games used to be more value for your money, you were able to get heeps of new outfits/hairstyles and household furniture but now they just incourage you to buy their stuff packs and store content instead.
The game would not even install, the region code was wrong and requires you to re-set the code for your computer, which then means nothing else will work on it. We refused to do this, took it out which has then caused a major glitch with our basic system as not even Google Chrome will load up now.
Contacted Customer support, to be told I was not entitled to a replacement or exchange as this was not available on computer games as the package had been opened - how am I to know there is an issue with it unless I open it and try to run it? One lady even told me this was a known issue yet there is nothing in the product description as a warning 1st before buying it. EA are aware of it and have since scrapped the region code issue on further expansion packs.
I had to quote the terms of the Sales of Goods Act and Distance Selling Regulations before I was offered a collection and refund on the item.
It will not stop me from buying further items for Sims 3 nor other products, but I am wary and read all reviews 1st.
Pros - easy to install and fun
Cons - needs beefy computer / mac to run not the best fps on home/office computer
