Product Description

Product Description

Praised by the Los Angeles Times for his grace, eloquence and the 'understated beauty of his tone', Macedonian pianist Simon Trpceski shot to fame after winning the London International Piano Competition in 2001. A regular concerto soloist with many of the world's leading orchestras, he also enjoys a busy international career as a chamber musician and his solo recordings have received recognition as 'Editor's Choice' and 'Debut Album' awards from Gramophone.

Review

There is so much to like in this live recital … a pianist who consistently plays to a remarkable standard. --Malcolm Hayes, BBC Music Magazine July 2013

Simon Trpceski is a pianist who excites admiration and I eagerly look forward to hearing more from him. --Patrick Rucker, International Record Review June 2013

Each time we get a CD, by him, and especially when we have been able to hear Simon Trpceski live, it is a most enjoyable experience. HIs playing is superlative, and it seems for once the critics agree! We have followed his progress for some years since first seeing and hearing him at BristolColston Hall some years ago, and in our opinion he is certainly one of the best of the younger generation of virtuoso pianists - an excellent performer, great communicator, and no histrionics as with some!

Simon Trpceski is without doubt one of the finest pianists of his generation and this CD is testament to both his artistry and his complete command of his instrument. I heartily recommend this recital to all Schubert lovers and to anyone young aspiring pianists who would like to hear how music should be played.

Simon has put together a splendid CD from his recent concert tour - I suppose it's good to hear the audience's appreciation, but long term, I prefer to focus on his wonderful timing with power and delicacy as demanded by the pieces. It's all very good and draws the listener in.
