I have been a Chartered Surveyor for over 35 years, both as an agent and principal. Whilst I still work in the world of commercial property I have turned my hand to writing crime thriller adventure stories set against the world I know and inhabit.
It has its fair share of heroes and villains, and interesting characters. I set my books against this world running from 1983/88, then 1990/91 and my third book (which I am writing) in my 'Deal Series, is set in 1995/96. Each book is related to world events that happened and I weave these into my stories. The same main hero Rupert Brett features in each book.
They are adventure stories, my wish is to entertain and transport the reader for the time they read them. One kind critic wrote that I am doing for commercial property what Grisham in The Firm and Suits did for the law. I would be delighted if that were the case.
Half the fun of writing is the research: I have had a lot of help form many people; visited the places I write about; fired the weapons and rehearsed the fight sequences. The finance deals and details all work, so hopefully my novels ring true.
