Simple but brilliant!!! I went camping for four days with several family members over the Bank Holiday and used this tiny Silverline inverter. It is rated at 200 watts initially and then 160 watts continuous thereafter. Peak power is 400 watts. Although we took our cars, I decided to use the inverter with a cigar socket and crocodile clips adapter, (which I bought separately, available from Amazon or Ebay) and then connected it directly to a 12v, 62Ah leisure battery, which I placed in the main tent. I then fitted an extension lead to the inverter. It charged and powered my Samsung NB30 netbook, my sister's compaq 17" laptop, my niece's Acer 17" laptop and the communal 17" Philips CRT television. Our mobile phones, which included a Nokia n95 8Gb, two Nokia 6300, a Nokia 6303 and LG KS360 phones were all quickly and correctly charged when required. It also charged my Huawei E585 Mifi modem without problems. At the end of the third day the inverter alarm activated to indicate that the battery was low. I replaced the battery with my spare GS portable 12v, 40Ah gel leisure battery and used that until the end of the vacation. All I had to do when I arrived home was to recharge the two leisure batteries. This little black and blue inverter worked flawlessly throughout and did exactly what it is supposed to do. Amazing bit of kit!!!

other makes of these have a usb socket as well as a normal uk plug socket. this one does not.

Bought this about 12 months ago, I have used it about once a week normally to charge a laptop up or android phone. At first it worked, ok but very noisy though with the fan going, however this is now not working at all, the light flickers and does not charge anything. Secondly a standard 3 pin plug fits terribly in this item, it is probably designed for european use with the Uk user an atherthought, save your childrens inheritance and spend it elsewhere.

After a great deal of effort in trying to fit the 3 pin plug into socket without damaging the casing, I decided to leave the phone charger plug and cable attached. (good job I had a spare)

This item works fine, but It is bulky, so if your aux power (cigarette lighter socket) is near to the gear lever, it may get in the way.

it does get hot so be mindful to remove when not in use.

      Good service and delivery.

The big positives are the cigarette socket end is well made and reliable, the 3 pin plug socket is too, they both plug in firmly and stay in contact (unlike other invertors I have had). It really does handle the power consumption of my laptop (macbook pro) even when I was rendering and exporting video (which uses a lot of power) I opened as many applications and got as many things running as I could and it was fine.
As soon as you plug it in the little cooling fan comes on (regardless of if you are drawing any current or have anything plugged into it) the sound of the fan is very noticeable but you get used to it.

I regularly use power inverters whilst travelling and this is one of my favourites due to its compact size.

It's a practical design plugs into the lighter socket and provides quick and easy power on the move ideal for recharging mobile phone, camera and camcorder batteries or powering small appliances. Although it has an adjustable angle, I normally use mine with an extension cable so that it doesn't nudge the gear stick in my Renault Kangoo.

A recommended purchase - with a 3 year warranty (not two years, as stated).

What a device! A little bit tricky with trying to put the 3 pin plugs in, but it certainly does the job.

It is a little bit loud, so if the device is going to be behind your head (In a few cars) then it can be irritating if your trying to use a DVD player or Laptop and earphones.

      But overall, amazing.
