Manufacturers keep making products harder to open. If you want to be able to repair them yourself, you have to buy special tools. This set of Pentalobe screwdrivers includes 6 of the smallest sizes of Pentalobes: Sizes TS1 through TS6. Made from high quality S2 Steel, stronger than CRV6150, they will resist chipping and stripping.

This kit includes TS1, TS2, TS3, TS4, TS5, and TS6. The TS1 removes the back case of the iPhone 4, 4S and 5 (have not tested later models). The TS4 opens the back case of the MacBook Air and Macbook Pro Retina. The TS5 works with the mid-2009 MacBook Pro Battery.
Note that the screwdrivers in this set ARE NOT TORX SCREWDRIVERS. One of the negative reviewers here is confused about this. This TS4 Pentalobe screwdriver in this kit DOES work to get the Macbook Air's back casing off. But if you want to take the battery out (which you usually do), you'll also need a 6-point Torx screwdriver T5 (or TX5). I use the Draper 28722 Precision Screwdriver Set (31 Pieces) available on Amazon UK for £5, and it works great.
The screwdrivers in this kit have the size imprinted near the head so you can tell them apart (TS1 through TS6), but the color coded handles help if you use them a lot. (Apparently they don't always ship with the same color on the same size -- one reviewer here said that the MB Pro Retina screwdriver is blue -- in my set it's red.) The plastic is very solid, and has tiny protruding bumps in the middle for grip. The metal rod itself is sturdy steel. I don't understand why one reviewer says they aren't not built to "last for ages" -- these seem perfectly fine to me. Another brand of Pentalobe being sold on Amazon is getting bad ratings for using poor metal that bends and breaks. This one is not like that. The steel is sturdy and doesn't wiggle.
The kit also comes with a case that is unexpectedly nice, with a velcro-sealing flap and a ring through one corner so you can hang the set with your tools.
These screwdrivers are sturdy, they do their job, and their a great price. If you own one of the devices that these screwdrivers open, I can think of no reason not to order this set.
For the internal component of the macbook, they are mostly Torx T5, at first I was confused because I though all screws were pentelope shaped. If you look closley the pentelope screws have five points, whilst the torx have 6.
Great seller too, item delivered within 2 days even though I ordered with standard free delivery.
The only downside, and a question for the seller/manufacturer - why are the screwdrivers not marked or indicated which size is which? I've had to use guesswork and trial and error to find the right driver for the job. There was no colour card or any markings at all showing which screwdriver is which. Could you supply this please?
Emailed Silverhill Tools directly with this question on 18 August 2016, still have yet to receive a response.
Perfect for basic macbook repairs due to idiotic cases of alcoholism.
